I'm sure (and hope) that Purdue will do an extension/raise/buyout increase on his contract here shortly. Not only that, but let's be real here. Yeah the dude did a great job of turning around a very very crappy team. But he went 4-5 in a Big Ten West that is pretty epic in how bad it is at this point in time. Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that Purdue has him at the helm, but I also believe he is right where he belongs right now. I don't think dude is ready for a fan base who thinks they should be a no more than 1 or 2 loss team.

They lost to Rutgers which should never have happened. Nebraska really shouldn't have either, but they aren't Rutgers. I'll give Louisville (at least when it seemed they were good) Wisconsin, Michigan, and Northwestern. But it would have been far more impressive had he gotten an 8 win season, which was more than doable.

Nope. UT is going through some pain right now. Currie may be in trouble because of Schiano but if he makes a good hire now... this all goes away. Brohm would be a very, very good hire.

Few coaches go home and succeed. UT will pay him more. UT will be easier to recruit. UT has MUCH better facilities and support.

I don't know him personally so hometown loyalty might over ride that... but it shouldn't for a professional coach.

Have followed him a little bit. He has followed Petrino everywhere except Purdue. He is a good coach. Not a heavy hitter like people wanted at the beginning of this search, but he is a pretty good offensive coach.

DO IT. This guy is for real. has 6 wins at Purdue when they had 9 in 4 years before. Killed it at WKU. He's a football guy, and thats what we need as head coach. No more @#$% heads like Butch Dooley Kiffin and Schiano

If he will still take the job does anybody think we can really do much better at this point. I mean come on guys we are not exactly in the greatest negotiating position right now.

I have been to four Purdue games and watched the rest on TV. Brohm was not my first choice for the Tennessee hire but I like the possibility more by the minute. He has had a lot of injuries on an already weak roster. He has played two QB's trying to figure out which one would take the reigns. Settled on one only to have is ankle/leg broken. The players have played with passion and performed better than I thought they were capable of. The biggest issue I see is he doesn't have the WR's for his offense. They get open and drop passes. Many dropped TD passes at that. The d-line is a little under sized but they are holding their own. He might not win interviews but the man can coach some football.

Dave Doeren, 46 yo head coach at NC State. His teams have almost beaten FlaSt and Clemson multiple times with a fraction of the talent. Staff develops players well; they play tough on both sides of the ball. Secondary coach for Montana Griz when they won Natty. Grad Asst at SoCal, DC at Wisconsin. 7 yrs as head coach. Negotiating to extend his ~$2m contract. Recruiting a top-flight prep LB that recently de-comitted from UNC... name is Payton Wilson. No, I'm not kidding... karma, anyone? :)

Not really a Brohm guy, but here you go:

36–16 Record as HC. Not terrible

Played Louisville(#16 at the time) VERY close, beat the crap out of Missouri, whipped Minnesota, played Wisconsin VERY close, etc.

Not great, but considering its Purdue, they have looked decent. Plus he did very well at W. Kentucky

He's done a great job to this point as a HC, has gotten praise for what he's done in his first year at Purdue from Meyer and Harbough. Has a really good coaching tree he's learned under, his team's play hard and physical, is a great offensive mind and very well respected among his coaching peers. What he's done in his first year at Purdue was incredible. They easily could have beaten Louisville and Wisconsin this year also. I would put his entire resume well ahead of Frost, Norvell and Campbell. JMO

Honestly, the biggest reason for me is because Purdue fans absolutely love him. They talk about how bad his team was this year; no talent, toms of injuries, expecting 1 win, and he brought them to a freaking bowl game. Nothing but good things from his fanbase. He can coach.

possibly B1G coach of the year, took a team that had 9 wins in 4 years, to 6 in his first. He even had an injured starting QB. Brohm is a football guy and really loves the game, and is a true players coach, unlike Butch and Dooley who are snakes who look out for themselves only.

Seems the fans do love him up there. They def weren't happy at seeing the UT has contacted him reports.

Offense.....from the petrino tree.......good family football pedigree!

The only concern with me would be their loyalty to the city of Louisville
