The Official It Was A Good Call Thread

It was an absolute flop. However Maymon touched the ball last on the prior trip. I was more upset at how Horford and Morgan got away with two hands and a forearm in Stokes back ALL game. That's a foul

Before the called charge on Stokes, there was a reaching in foul by another Michigan player, but it wasn't called. Had it been, Stokes would have at the line for a one and one.

He lowered his shoulder. The officiating was bad all the way around. For example, the ball was out on Maymon, still went to Tennessee.

Ban worthy stupidity. It's one of the most egregious calls I've ever seen in sports. It's Gafney TD "catch" egregious.

The charging fowl on stokes was a bad call. The Michigan player was moving to get into position when Stokes started his move to the basket. So he had not established his position. The defensive man is allowed to move laterally. In this case he moved under Stokes and flopped backward. In 95 % of the time it would be a block. I think the Maymon call was correct. The Michigan player had his hand inside of Maymon's hands. Ther were other calls. In the first half Stokes was knock out of bounds and a foul should have been called and caused TN to turn the ball over.

terrible call. yes he lowered his shoulder. Welcome to the sweet 16. Stokes is shoved out of bounds earlier with no call that leads to a turnover and bucket on the other end. Guy was moving and flopped and didn't even get hit in his chest. Meanwhile, help D comes in hacking at the same time. You guys know what it means when a ball goes out or up out of a players hands after the D comes in hacking? It means he was hacked. If the ball goes down, its all ball.

I would just like to say that CCM must (MUST) start working the officials and that is not to say that he needs to go out and get t'd up. His players were trying to work the officials more than CCM has ever attempted to do.

CCM is doing a disservice to his team by refusing to work the officials. The top flight coaches in the NCAA spend a fair amount of time in game working the officials without getting t'd up.

Please, bring something constructive as to why it was a bad call instead of just going to the ole go to of calling people stupid or morons. Brings nothing to the conversation.

Feet were moving to his left and his heels were never set. The contact from stokes shoulder never hit his chest but was under the defenders left arm. It was a flop job and the fact that you're standing by it being a good call makes me stand by my original moron statement.

Why don't you just state the obvious .. You are glad Tennessee got beat . terrible call .. the kid was falling before Stokes even touched him . just my opinion though . So piss off you wanker !

One other thing, if they're going to review a ball out of bounds play, why not review a crucial call at the end of the game that changes the entire complexion of the game and perhaps determines the outcome?

What you get from a ref that calls primarily west coast games.

With neither team having any timeouts left, that charging call took away any chances of having a magical moment. It was a very disappointing way to end an otherwise amazing comeback by UT. Instead, the announcers now have to refer to the game ending on a controversial call.

On Yahoo Sports

A dunk by Morgan put the Wolverines up eight points with 2:22 remaining. The Volunteers, however, went on a 7-0 run spurred by three turnovers, including an inbounds pressure that saw Caris LeVert step on Tennessee's baseline with just 9.6 seconds remaining.
That set the stage for the game's disputed play. The rule change instituted before the season states that the defender must be established before the offensive player begins his motion to shoot or pass.

OP. If you think he was established ...

BS. He was trying to split the defenders. We played almost the whole game without Maymon. He was called for a foul when even the announcers--no Tennessee friends there-- admitted he was just holding his arms up while the offensive guy lost the ball out of bounds on his own. Looks to me the fix was pretty much in. No chance of having the hated SEC have all three teams in the elite eight. Fix it early while you can.

I think the OP has given up his ridiculous stance by going back under the troll bridge.

Lol. Nice try.

This.

Guy set several picks while moving which lead to 3 of their triples in the first half and did the same on the flop.

He was moving so bad on one of the picks he run into his own man, knocked him and the defender.
