The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

IMO, Andrew Luck will become the greatest QB of all time. Amazing how the Colts were so lucky to have Manning for so many years and now Luck.

I certainly hope you are right. I know, how fortunate that the next draft after Peyton sat the whole year Luck would be available. If not for Luck being there I would have wanted Peyton to stay

Lions hire Jim Caldwell as head coach. SMH.

I don't view this as a bad hire like a lot of people I know do. That offense is scary as is, so imagine if he works Stafford into shape.

The old saying about "a team is a reflection of the coach" may end up working in this situation, especially on defense. We all know this team is viewed as undisciplined, so maybe a laid back coach like Caldwell will help.

For whatever it's worth McNabb said he liked this hire better than titans hiring of Wisenhunt

I don't see it. I think he'll be good for a long time. Greatest of all time though? Highly doubtful

I wasn't aware McNabb endorsed this hire.

Whisenhunt's record as a head coach is 45-51. The only time he saw success in Arizona was when Kurt Warner was his starting QB. After Warner retired his record as a coach is 18-30. Now I am aware that there were probably other factors that led to this, but poor QB play will kill a team. So IMO he is gonna need to draft/sign a QB for this to work for the Titans. Unless he can develop Locker.

Today's NFL you better have a Qb I don't see Locker as a top tier qb nor do I see one in the draft

Greatest of all time is very hard to say, after Peyton's second year would anyone have said he will be in conversation for greatest of all time, probably not. I will say this, if I could start an Nfl team today and I had the first pick I would take Luck. 320 current nfl players picked him second only behind Peyton as far as starting a team. He is best young qb in league, he has far surpassed my expectations so far.

You are right, you must have solid consistent QB play to compete in the NFL on a yearly basis. I don't view Locker as a QB who will take a team to the Super Bowl either.

Unlike you, I do view Bridgewater as a possible franchise guy and Jimmy Garoppolo seems very interesting as well, but franchise guy is a stretch right now for him. Interested to see his pre-draft workouts.

He has done pretty good. I'd take Wilson over Luck.

I think he could be ok to good, but not franchise but who knows. If he puts the work in he could.

Draft talk time.

I want an OL. I like Collins from LSU for his versatility.

With the first pick (2nd round), this is your guy? If he is there I like the guard from Miss St. Jackson is his last name, maybe Gabe his first? If Jordan Matthews is there it would be hard to pass him up I think

Yes. Last I saw he was a 2-3 Rounder. He's starters multiple positions, and I believe LSU's offense is a closer fit.

Although I want OL, Mathews would be a great pick up.

Edit- Collins is staying at LSU

I freaking hate not having a dang first round pick. I could probably handle it if Richardson had done well, but losing the pick and he sucked makes this very disappointing for me.

From a telnet perspective alone Matthews would be a very nice pickup, but the o-line is a bigger hole. It seems the recievers we have may actually develop into something.

Somewhere along the line we need a receiver, rather it be draft or free agency. DHB will not be resigned and I am not sure D Rogers can get it done, he really fell off late. I do agree though that OL is the biggest need

Rogers only played for five games so I wouldn't go that far. That's like penalizing him for having a great game. Potentially, I would take him over anybody we could get late second.

It's a fairly good WR class. I think we can get a good one in the 3-4 range. If Mathews is available in the second I wouldn't hate the pick up though.

What do you think about Nicks or Britt in free agency

Don't know what my phone was doing with that horrible spelling of talent in my last post.

Without the benefit of a 1st round pick I believe you have to keep the strategy going in except you push it back a round. In this case I expected them to take a lineman early then work out. If there is a lineman on the board they think they can build with I can't see passing him up. Even if a guy like Matthews is available.

I tend to agree with an analyst I heard talking about Luck and his future. We want him here 12+ years if we can, without a solid line that won't happen. I have faith in the 2 young guys developing into competent if not good receivers to go along with Hilton and whatever time left Wayne has.

I agree for the most part. If Gabe Jackson is there that should be the pick, I believe our tackles are good enough.
