This is much better than I thought we would be at the halfway point.
In the second half of the season, I'm hoping that we start using Trent Richardson like we used Joseph Addai in regards to passing game. I also hope they promote Rogers off of the practice squad and get him in the game. Unless we see dramatic improvement in DHB, I think we can conclude that this will be his first and last year with the Colts. Might as well see what DaRick can do in real game situations.
One bad thing about the AFC South dumpster fire is that it is looking like the Texans and the Jags may be able to pick 1-2 in the 2014 draft. That means Bridgewater and Clowney may be in the Division next year.
Something needs to get figured out with the o-line and the receiving core. There is no way Luck will last long enough to accomplish anything in Indy if they can't protect him.
The receiving corp scares me. Reggie was a huge loss. No idea if DHB knows you are supposed to catch the ball. Lavon Brazill is unproven. Rogers is now getting his chance so the jury is out on him. T.Y. is really the bright spot here and his smaller frame worries me.
With all that said, this team is still 8-4 with the questions. So maybe they can figure this thing out and get the ball rolling for the playoffs.
I am not sure why Khaled Holmes does not play, we can't be any worse than our current guards/center, losing Donald Thomas was really bad. Next year I expect the line to be much better. #1 job in offseason should be to get line fixed either through draft or FA.
DHB will be let go after this season and I think losing Allen was just as big as losing Wayne, I keep hearing he was going to be a huge part of the offense. I think and hope Rogers has found a home, so with Rogers, Wayne, TY in slot and at TE Allen and Fleener next season and going forward I feel good about that group. But also a position that needs addressed due to Wayne coming off major injury and his age.
As for this season its a huge accomplishment to win division with all the injuries, I just don't see them doing much in playoffs but you never really know.
I read they will have 30 mil in cap space
Without a doubt the line has to be the main focus. The group of wideouts on the roster could be one of the least threatening amongst playoff contending teams if either Brazill or Rogers do not develop. Not including if Reggie recovers from his injury and returns to form. Really would like to see money dropped on the line and a reliable wideout if they can get one either in FA or the draft.
Add to the injuries, LaVon Brazill is in a boot and hasn't practiced. :banghead2:
