The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

Well that apparently came out of nowhere...ESPN reporting that Trent Richardson's a Colt now

Edit: article

The Cleveland Browns have traded former first-round pick Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick.

The deal was first reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Cleveland selected Richardson with the third overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft out of Alabama.

Richardson has rushed for 105 yards on 31 carries in the first two games. He rushed for 950 yards and a Browns rookie record 11 touchdowns last season.

I was hoping that Bradshaw would get his chance to prove everyone wrong and show he still had more than enough in the tank.

Well, now my fantasy RB depth's dead

It doesn't. Cleveland will continue to suck FOREVER

Yeah, it's just another position they have to draft to replace now...and unless there was some strife between the ownership/coaches/front office and him personally, I can't see how this move made sense to them.

...even if they were to somehow end up with picks 1 & 2 by April's draft (or did they move it back to May...I don't remember how the moving the draft date discussions ended)

Good trade for Colts who need a premier RB. I think they give up a 12 - 24 position pick in Rd. 1. Richardson is worth that.

The way you guys were making it sound here earlier, I was thinking closer to the 12 than the 24 (21-24 would imply a playoff appearance, or even winning the division, wouldn't it?)

Yeah, 24 position is too high. But even if it is somewhere in the 10-18 range, it still makes sense to me. With Luck / Richardson, the Colts offense could look like Manning / James early in their careers.

Good trade for Browns.

Meh rade for Colts. I don't think they can run block on a consistent basis.

Well, if Richardson's durability isn't as much of a concern as year 1 made it look like it could possibly be.

Richardson understands he is now teamed with a premier passing QB. Defenses won't load the box against the Colts. Hopefully, he'll get into secondary more often for huge runs.

Durability is of course the issue. We shall see.
