I know they won't until after the season. I just wish guys like Polian would reply with "no comment" as opposed to bold faced lies when asked questions like this.
Cowher would be good but the only way I can see him coming to Indy is if Polian is gone. I just can't see him agreeing to coach with Polian having as much power as he currently does. Jim Irsay has to make the call - get rid of Polian and bring in a strong head coach or keep Polian and let him bring in someone (like a current NFL assistant).
Polian is excellent when he is building a team from scratch. He did great jobs doing this at Buffalo, Carolina and Indianapolis. But since the Super Bowl, he hasn't done a good job making necessary changes (improving the defense) and the changes he has done (offensive line) have not panned out.
I'd be surprised if Irsay and Polian parted ways. Thus, I think the next Colts head coach will be a no name assistant. Irsay and Polian aren't stupid; they know that if the Colts finish 2-14 or worse and they keep the current coaching staff, season ticket sales will fall off the cliff.
Where'd all the Colts fans go? Lol

Been a Colts fan long before Manning got here. I have seen them suck like this before so its not new to me. Still interesting to me to wonder 1) who the Colts head coach will be next year, 2) if they aren't in position to draft Luck, do they trade down, and 3) who they can bring in to improve their horrendous secondary.
I am there with you. I don't think they can bring Caldwell back if they go 0-16, even without Peyton there is no excuse not to win at least a couple of games. I hope if they do not get the first pick they do trade back and stock pile picks. First thing they can do to fix the secondary is fire Coyer, he is beyond pathetic.
No one in Indianapolis thinks Caldwell will be the coach next year. Its clear that the coaching staff has provided zero leadership or change in direction. When Brady went down in Game 1, Belichick changed the entire offense to fit Cassell's limitations and they were more than competitive within a couple of games. Colts have had the entire preseason and 8 games to revamp an offense and haven't accomplished squat. Coyer is equally clueless on the defensive side.
I agree with stockpilling picks if we don't get the #1 pick. But it would be amazing if the Colts get Luck and Manning steps down at the same time. Hopefully, Colts will also be more aggresive regarding trades and free agents this off season.
