The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

So what happened with clark. I heard at one point he went down on the turf and med staff/ trainers rushed out. He ok?

What purpose would that serve? He's being placed on the IR... again. When he's healthy (2010), he'll play and improve the defense dramatically. If the Colts decided to release him, they would still be out the full amount of the contract.

Strongly disagree. A release is not the solution here. However, if this continues, I doubt the Colts will make any attempt to re-sign Bob after his contract is up.

Umm, I'd say it's "continued" for a good while now. Saying when "Bob Sanders gets healthy" is like us Cub fans when we kept saying "when Mark Prior gets healthy". He's healthy for about 4 games tops then goes down.

I'm not saying he should be released, but at some point you have to pretty much admit he's not reliable enough.

I believe his contract is up at the end of this season. The Colts will likely cut ties.

I hope you are right about his contract, but that just does not sound right. I think he may have a little longer. I will try to dig a little bit today and find out.

Bill Polian:

Q: Has there been any thought to the situation involving S-Bob Sanders?

A: This is simply bad luck. He is no different a player – and I think everybody saw that in the couple of games he played this year – than when he was Defensive Player of the Year in the NFL (in 2007). He's just had a lot of tough luck with injury. We have invested a lot of money in him and I see no reason why we would – assuming this next procedure goes as expected and there are no complications, and the knee continues to improve as it has – I wouldn't see why we would not bring him back. That, to me, just seems to be foolish. Luck plays a role in this business. There's no two ways about that. There's no reason to believe Bob won't be the same player he was after these injuries, as long as he continues with rehab and works out religiously, and as I told him, with a good offseason program that's injury-free and rehab-free, if he can get back with a real good feeling about his ability to lay it on the line, he'll be an even better player than he was before he was injured. I think, barring unforeseen circumstance, Bob Sanders figures prominently in our plans.

It seems like the Pats are getting all the love right now, Colts need to put them in their place this weekend.

Agreed. Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis need to do work on the Pats o-line in order to win. Can't let Brady have enough time to hit Moss going deep...

If the o-line gives Brady enough time to go deep to Moss... the Colts rookie corners will be exposed.
