The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

yeah for the 7 years we have had the AFC south the colts have dominated. BUT as of late the titans won the south last yr. SO.....

And the Colts have already clinched the AFC South this season, beat Tennessee in Nashville, and don't forget the fact that Tennessee is 5-6, SO....

:good!:

Well last season both teams played their back ups, you remember Sorgi vs. Young?

what i wouldn't give to be jim sorgi. $700,000+ a year to play preseason and the 16th game. Not ever worrying about going in because manning is too aware of everything on the field to take a hard sack, so he's never getting hurt. Sorgi wins the lucky dog award. BOOK IT

Someone else said the Titans were the Colts' "red-headed step-child" and he said they dominated it "as of late." Titans won the division last year and they've split the last 6 games. Colts have obviously been better, but the Titans haven't been dominated "as of late."

Titans have become a formidable AFC South opponent, and games against Tennessee are always hard-fought. The fact remains that the Colts have dominated the AFC South for the better part of this decade.

Try 1.8 million a year. He has hit the freaking lottery. I would love to have his job. Get to hang around Peyton every day, never have to worry about playing just walk around with a clip board.

Can't argue with that. I thought things would change after last year and the beginning of this one with the Titans looking improved and all the Colts' changes but no. The Colts will win or be near the top of the AFC south until Manning is gone I'm pretty sure.

If my memory serves me correctly 2 of those 3 Titans wins were when we played our back ups

there were 6 games the last 3 seasons.

In 2006, Indy beat TN in week 5 14-13, and TN won in week 13 21-20.

In 2007, Indy won 22-20 in week 2, and TN won in week 17 16-10

In 2008, TN won in week 8 31-14, and in week 17 Indy won 23-0

So as you see, the series over the last few years has been split, close more games than not as well

also only one of those TN wins was with backups, just like only one of those Indy wins was with backups

Absolutely, they always play us tough. They may dominate next decade but we have owned this division this decade.

what? i just figured he got the veteran minimum. Jesus christ. I hope he's donating some of that to charity, because it's pretty much being donated to him.

only 1 win for each side for each was against backups, unless manning got hurt in 2006
The '06 win for the Titans was the game where Bironas nailed a 60 yard field goal at the end to win it. Manning played the whole way.

they have dominated in winning the division yes, but in games between the two one hasnt dominated more than the other over each other.

see that UK-TN basketball example i made.

You are right, but that last game last season as we have discussed here both teams played their back ups

He should be getting the league minimum, he has been on the injured list the last few weeks. What possibly could he have done to get hurt? Hurt himself getting Peyton some gatorade?

My wife and I witnessed this heartbreaker on that chilly day at LP Field. The Tennessee fans were a lot of fun to watch the game with, and showed great sportsmanship to us. I think my Peyton Manning jersey earned a few bonus points.

:)

I would view Divisional Championships as more important than winning individual games. Championships would be the best indicator of domination, I think.

maybe he cut a finger on his handing off hand holding the clipboard. maybe he strained a shoulder carrying mannings bags. maybe he suffered from chest pains after swollowing his pride realizing he was a career back up. maybe he hurt his ankle driving manning to all his Tv commercial sets.

This fun we should start a thread and call it how in the hell did jim sorgi get hurt. we can throw other Qb's like billy volek in thier as well.:dance2:

but that's not the same thing as dominating over/versus another team....or as you put it earlier I believe, beating them constantly like a red headed step child or something along those lines

That would be a funny thread. I could swallow my pride for 1.8 mil a year

Technically, the Colts have been treating every team in the AFC South like their red-headed step child for the past decade.
