The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

I agree. I can't see Freeney being nearly as effective in a 3-4. Better coaching for the defense next year is a given (but it would be hard to be worse than the atrocious staff of last year). I am also hopeful that the Colts will pick up some secondary free agents this year which will help.

Offense will be difficult to watch but how much worse could it be than this past year? Painter had no clue on how to get the ball to Wayne so he was ineffective, Gonzalez never saw the field, Clark was terrible (or hurt), Addai was hurt most of the season. Losing Garcon will hurt but if they can pick up someone who can stretch the field, I don't think it will be a huge loss.

Finally, I think psychologically, the team will play tougher knowing that no one thinks they can win more than 2 games.

Mike Chappell is saying that no way is Freeney back on this team, either trade or release. Getting rid of him I think he said would open up an additional 14mil, so that would put them at around 34 mil cap space, if I understand it right.

Colts need to win game 2 (Browns) and game 4 (Bucs) to avoid a winless season this year.

Colts should be a lock for the first draft pick for the next two seasons. Must be exciting.

Is there any talk in Indy about trying to get the NFL to put a mercy rule in play for 2012?

Was thinking it would be the humane thing to do...

I'm putting the over/under for the franchise being gone at 8 years.

You and the Titans deserve each other.

I am guessing they will keep Tammie and sign one in FA, maybe Carlson if not him maybe Boss.

With Reggie Wayne signing, if they keep Tammie, that would give us Wayne, Collie, Tammie as the primary receivers. Add one more veteran and that doesn't seem like a desperate situation anymore.

Do you think the Colts will add another veteran RB or draft one?

That's a very nice core. I say still draft a WR in maybe the third round.

I think they are going to be satisfied with Brown, Carter and Evans. I want to see what Brown can do in a different system and I liked them drafting Carter.

Do you see them drafting a CB in second round?

I think they will add a 3-4 NT through free agency, maybe A. Franklin.

I'm not a draft expert but yes, I suspect that they will go heavy on the defense after Round 1. I'd like to see them add another RB as Brown has had injury problems in the past.

It's hard to say, but probably not any time soon. By the time Luck hits his prime Brady will likely be wrapping up his career.

I wouldn't rule out Ryan Mallett. If he learns how to read coverage, he can make all the throws. He's still only 23. Could make for a continued rivalry if both(Luck/Mallett) pan out.

I like Mallett.

The problem is they may not play each other. Not in same division, and the NFL pulled strings to make that matchup happen basically every regular season.

@adbrandt RT @Eagles have traded OT Winston Justice and a 6th round pick to the Colts for a 6th round pick.
