“Let's be honest...this is what we've all been expecting (or should have been expecting) for the past couple of months. I have no idea how the Astros managed to build a six-game division lead and almost the best record in baseball. But if there was ever a case for regression, this is it. No one's to blame. You simply can't keep trotting out a couple of (declining?) major leaguers, a rookie and six or seven journeymen and AAA players and expect to compete. Fortunately, through smoke and mirrors, we did build a comfortable cushion...and now must hope it's enough until re-enforcements arrive.” -alstro

They are down 18 rostered players. Four more than the next closest in the MLB. I would say Joe Espada has done a remarkable job.
