The Official Hillary Campaign Machine

Oh, first of all I agree that the Dems do the same thing with their committees when the roles are reversed.

And I tend to agree with you that a prosecution of him is unlikely. But even a small risk of that outweighs the completely nonexistent benefit to him of testifying, even if its mundane.

For one thing, the sheer expense of preparing and appearing, in terms of lawyer fees, would be daunting.

Pretty sure he'll have plenty of help with his legal fees.

Sure he does. Same principle.

Wait, wait.. I thought the only reason he shouldn't testify in front of the congressional committee is to stay out of the partisan witch hunt and circus the Republicans are conducting.

You said there have been no crimes committed so is the FBI now a Republican party tool?

Any statement he gives to the FBI would ultimately be public record.

Plus, more importantly, if he spoke to the FBI, the committee would have a good argument he waived the privilege.

FBI interviews during an active investigation are now public record? Sorry I call bull****. Drink!

Louis Lerner gave up her right to invoke the 5th, she has been held in contempt of congress yet the DOJ does nothing. So just who in the hell is going to make him testify? Again Bull****, drink!

You've got to be kidding me - you are actually arguing his motivation is to avoid political outcomes because at some point in the future his testimony might be subject to a FOIA request?

Holy crap.

Not really. They are smart enough and experienced enough to know why he's doing it.

Why do you think they wanted to talk to him?

Why do you think they requested the server rather than seizing it?

At some point the requests will turn to demands and subpoenas.

You have to be trolling at this point.

Did she have any specific instructions for how the server should be set up?

That's really the pertinent question for the IT guy to answer.

She conferred with AlGore. He did invent the internet after all. He talked her thru it. Piece of cake.

FBI: We are investigating whether classified information was mishandled. You set up the server, we'd like to ask you a few questions.

Clinton Aide: I plead the fifth.

FBI: We understand, can't let those Republicans have a talking point. Never mind and have a nice day.

What is the FBI going to do, Waterboard him?

I suppose that if they need him to talk they'll persuade him or go around him.

The response was to LG's suggestion that they completely understand why he'd take the fifth and don't see that as any indication he might have something to hide.

He can surely refuse to talk but I seriously doubt the FBI looks at that as a dead end or indication that there is nothing to see here.

I betcha he has a big suitcase full of neatly stacked $100.00 bills from the Clinton Foundation he would like to keep hid.

The FBI will put all the pressure they can on him to talk.

What's to hide? She had a private server. You want that to be a crime. It isn't in and of itself. Get over it.
