The Official Grizzlies Thread

The regular season is about your basketball character. Back to backs, four in five nights, being professional.

The postseason is about your basketball talent. Period.
Can you believe the Grizzlies have evolved into this team? I know you have had issues in the past with Zach but he is a serious threat to any team he plays against. And he has matured into a responsible guy off the court. Damn I love these Grizzlies and I love ZBo.

They've done a really job of building the roster. They kept the right point guard. They stole Sam Young in the draft. They added veterans like Allen, Battier, and Powe without giving up anything substantial in return. Gasol's development gets overlooked, but it's as important as any factor in this team's rise. Now, they just have to make a tough decision in the offseason on what to do with Mayo.

We need to keep as much of the team together as possible. We need everybody back next year if it can be done. Too much chemistry on this team and would hate to see even a little bit of it leave.

Please tell me you don't actually think O.J. is going to keep playing good little soldier coming off the bench. He'll be *****ing long and loud by Thanksgiving next year if he isn't starting.

I agree about Mike Conley. When they drafted him and during his first two years I was highly skeptical but he has grown into a big time NBA point guard. When they got Sam and Darrell in the draft I forgave them for drafting Thabeet #2. I've been wondering why Powe hasn't gotten any playing time in the playoffs so far. He got a lot of time at the end of the regular season. Marc has become a big time center in the league. He was constantly pushing Duncan out of his comfort zone in this series. OJ will be a tough decision. It comes down to the love and checkbook of Heisley.

So far OJ has been all about winning and being a good teammate. We'll see how that goes like you said.

Because he knows Tony Allen will beat the living hell out of him if he whines while the team is on a roll and *****ing now kills his trade value. Those considerations won't be in play when camp starts next fall.

Well, maybe he at least learned to pay off his card gambling debts. Or quit gambling on card games with teammates. :p

What a great night for Grizz fans! Yes, it's only the 2nd round but we've been through a lot these past 10 years and it feels sweet to finally have a team like this one.

Go Grizz!

So looking ahead. I think think they have better depth than than OKC. I think the Spurs would beat OKC so I deff take the Grizzlies over OKC. Its a different kind of match up and they have the better player, but close, with Durrant over Randolph. But I feel like in the end we have the advantage. This team is something different, something special.. What are your alls opinions?

Contracts, Memphis. Defeating the Spurs in your first playoff series is something to feel proud about.

Did you venture over to the musicfest?

I was too busy enjoying the win after the game inside the Forum. The Spurs were nothing but class after the game, although I wish someone would truck Matt Bonner's punk ass. I wish I could describe how loud the place was tonight, you could really tell that the city has gotten behind the team. It's just a group of gritty players.

I'd love to see the Grizzlies have an attempt. The Lakers match up horribly against the Thunder.
I disagree. The Grizzlies match up the best with a team like the Lakers due to paint presence. The Lakers should love to get the Thunder over the Griz. Here's hoping that ain't happening.

I agree 100%. That's why the city has got the Grizzlies back. They are a tough group of guys that will not give up til the final buzzer sounds. These guys will finish like no Grizzlies team in the past has ever done.
