Hey Jack! He beat Alabama on a regular basis when he was at the Barn. He had a 13-0 season also. He recruited well and is the riverboat gambler. He is a proven head coach. I think we can all agree that it would be hard to recruit to Texas Tech. Bring him back to the SEC. IMO this would be much better than hiring another Saban assistant. Gruden would still be first but if he says no give TT a shot! GO VOLS!

He beat FL and Bama pretty consistently. He really is a big game coach but chokes away some gimmees.

Beat Bama 6 years in a row

So did Fulmer (7 years actually) but some try to discredit that by saying they were down during that time.

Even more impressive to me was handling good FL teams every time they played.

But then there were the losses to South FL and untangled Clemson teams that seemed to happen regularly.

Tubbs can recruit with the best of them. Look at his RBs. He had Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, AND Brandon Jacobs AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened the last time Tubberville faced Saban? What was his record at Texas Tech last year?

He's a good recruiter, but he got fired for the same reason Fulmer got fired, he was regressing.

You might as well re-hire Fulmer if you want to go that route. They're pretty similar and at least Fulmer is a UT guy.

Pretty easy to "regress" from 13-0. He got fired because Auburn's biggest booster wanted him gone (one year prior to him going 13-0 BTW) and got caught with Petrino. Listen, UT could do a lot worse than TT (see DD). He's not #1 on my list either but lets not act like he can't coach.

He went 5-7 his last year at Auburn. He lost to Saban 36-0. He went 5-7 last year at Texas Tech. He's 59 years old.

You could definitely do worse, but it looks to me like Tuberville's in a similar place to Fulmer. Their best days are behind them.

3rd year. Sound familiar? Went 8-5 his first year with a Bowl win. 19-13 overall, 6-1 now. Not great, but it's light years ahead of where we are. Again, not advocating we should hire him.

TT is getting it done this year, beaten 2 very good teams in back to back weeks. I would have no problem gidving Tommy a look once gruden laughs at us.

Tommy T got canned at Auburn because e didn't play the political game with Dye and Lowder. That's why they hired cheesedick so he would be their puppet.

TT would be UT's coach today if he had not jumped on the Tech job. If you remember, he took the Tech job about 2 weeks before Kiffin bailed. I think he would have been the obvious choice over Dooley and would have gladly taken the UT job.
