You should be #1 after this weekend. I can’t imagine that you won’t be. If for some reason they don’t rank the Vols at #1, then it just shows that polls suck, which has been my opinion for a very long time now anyway. However, the Vols are defending national champs, currently 20-0, and just swept the Gators. So regardless of what the polls say, you shouldn’t worry about it! Im fairly confident y'all are in damn good shape at the moment!

I wanna ask this question. I know everyone is pumped being 20-0. There’s a good chance D1 will also rank us #1 on Monday, I bring that up because they aren’t the only poll.

If the argument is: It’s harder to fall than it is to rise in the polls, I agree. If the argument is we deserve to be number 1 after this weekend, I agree.

Where we are ranked after week one of SEC play in mid March, matters how?

It’s just an honest take. And I’ll add to it a little bit as well. I believe LSU is good, but nowhere near #1 good. If I had to guess right now, I’d say we likely only win somewhere between 16-18 SEC games. I’d be absolutely surprised if we picked up 20 or more, but I don’t see that happening. We’re definitely going to take some losses this season, but I hope we aren’t fighting like hell to make the tourney like last year.

I think the Vols are at minimum going to pick up 22-24 SEC wins, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s closer to 26 or 27. When you’ve got the bats like the Vols, you’re going to win a lot of games. The SEC is pretty loaded this year, so it’s going to be fun to watch all season long!

Appreciate your insight and confidence in the Vols. I really liked what I saw this weekend against a quality opponent.
