The official Fire Dooley Thread

Didn't realize this was still 2010.

Well, I always try to live by the rule that you have to give someone a chance to actually show you what they have got.

This year's team is markedly better than last year's, and there is no doubt in my mind that next year's team will be even better.

Hell no.

You fire him now, it's another freaking embarrassment in UT football history.

We keep our coach around here. If we didn't want him, we shouldn't of hired him.

STFU about firing the coach!

Please kill yourself. The embarrassment is keeping bozo and his clowns on the sideline "coaching" this team.

I absolutely noticed, and it breaks my heart to see the Vols lose.

That said, it takes more than 3 years to become the elite SEC team. I don't see how anyone could do what people expect the coach to do. Jesus man.

Dooley didn't have to have us at elite status this season. Struggling against troy and Akron, losing to msu are unacceptable however. Just like our sec record under Dooley. Still winless in league play, AGAIN.

D,
I was not talking about troy. We beat them.

I was talking about bama, fl, sc, ga. We were close on them, but lost. I don't think that warrants firing the coach that we just hired.

This is UT. We hvae a tradition here of keeping our coaches for a long time and it has payed off.

UT is one of the most successful football programs in colege football of all time. We didn't get that way by firing every coach.

If we stick with the program, UT will be as good as bama and LSU within the next few seasons.

Mark my words.

Um Alabama and Florida were smart enough to get rid of Shula and Zook when they realized that they weren't the right coaches for the job. Look at them now. The next coaches both won multiple NCAA championships

We were close on Alabama?

I didn't mean that. I know that was a blowout.

So was fl really. However, UT looked good for a while during that game

BTW, I aint getting bent, so you can just deal with me like a man or don't bother wasting my time.

Really? This team will be massacred in Eugene next year. They also have to go to Gainesville and Tuscaloosa. Next year has 7-5/8-4 written all over it.

i didn't even know when or who we were playing today.

my only reaction when the score came up during the ole miss/georgia game was "gave up 48 to troy...really?"

7 - 5/ 8 - 4 is being generous if we keep Dools.

is it going to be ok if Missouri and Vandy beat us?

UT will not lose to either of those teams.

Our team is battle tested. UT pulled it out against a top 25 offensive team today.

We have lost in some close ones.

Out of the two teams on that field today, UT was better when it mattered the most, at the end of the game.

We played like the teams that beat us this year. We won it at the end.

I see a bright future for Derek Dooley and the UT Vols.

No. I think he has to win out...

Missouri
At Vanderbilt
Kentucky

... to have a chance at staying one more year.

Tough call for the AD. Changes can affect recruiting, so does Dooley just need one more year for his recruits to start clicking, or will he never be better than mediocre?

The scary part is Dooley was 17-20 at Louisiana Tech and fresh off a 4-8 season when hired by Tennessee.

Well, we all know we would start off 0-5 in sec play and lose to Oregon. So....

You make it sound like we beat bama. It was Troy, that sun belt team.

Dooley is the right guy his is up against a strong wind, in the mud, going up hill with this team and that is just what it is, nothing more.

Go Vols!!

I am pumped up to win the next 17 games! National Champs next year!

BTW, I am like this every year. I guess you could say I am an optimist.

Tough times don't last. Tough people do.

Tough times will last as long as Derek Dooley is here.

The Vols met a team that has a lot of offense and was lucky enough to outscore Troy. Vols won't see that output (over 700 yds) offensively again for a long time. Troy must not have a defense either.

Fair enough.

You have your side and I have mine.

Let's see who prevails, and in the meantime go Vols!

All good points.

However, it's like I said previously. UT is a lot better.

The hardcore critics either aren't looking or they are purposefully not seeing the vastly improved performance from year to year.

Am I wrong?

UT is gonna shock the world next year when they roll over Oregon.

It will happen.
