How do you feel about Dooley now?

I am very disappointed that my poll was added to this thread. I attempted to make an unbiased poll now I can't get that because the title skews it. Dooley supporters are less likely to open this thread.

MODS why was this thread merged with my poll? I have made the poll every week after each game the exact same

All 10 of you?

This coaching is progressively getting this team better. With 7 new coaches and a new defensive system(3-4). It takes time to get these kids to see what the coaches need them to and then react to it. (Like Peyton and the Denver recievers-it takes time)The defense has improved greatly since Florida and Georgia. The defense shut Miss State down for the second half. They only had that last drive and a shortened drive due to a fumble. Huge improvement from the first half. The offense looks good. And is getting better. Even with Bray's knee, they we almost unstoppable at time. And I know if the defense had held Miss State to a FG and if we HAD 2:00 TO SCORE A TD, we would have won. Our offensive line is Beast!! Their defense coudn't stop us in the third or fourth. They knew it to(they were tired on D), that is why it was so critical for them(MSU) to not give it up. If you can't see this, your not a true Volunteer.:peace2:

Get him out or I'll never send another dime to the University. Not even for my kid's tuition. I'll send them to Vandy.

Is the IQ average for Pro-Dooley voters higher or lower than the average IQ for those voters who are still On-the-fence?

I know it's like an extraordinary defensive struggle, but just curious what others thought?

Take Harbaugh for example. He arrived at Stanford with less talent than Tennessee has now and his teams were slug it out smash your face in warriors for him. They brought the fight each week just from being coached up that way. Coaching is everything.....ask Arkansas if you don't believe me.

On the flip side, look at schools like USCe where CSS is coaching. Took him over 6 seasons to get his team to this winning point. There are other examples and well..... and it's unreasonable to compare UT to any team outside of the SEC.

I'm not saying CDD is the answer or that he will get us over the hump, but I don't think that he has the talent and that he deserves one more year.

Great coaches are everything, but you can't outcoach these teams(established coaching staffs and 3 deep talent) full of 5 stars in the SECe for 10+ games with a group of 3 stars!!

Folks, I recall a few years ago how so many in the forum thought that Tennessee football was in such a mess that nobody but someone like Dooley would want to take it on. No big names were biting. Remember? Regardless, we all know what has happened and it is what it is. Dooley inherited a tough situation and, at least in part because of negativity of some around the program, assistants decided to leave. The fact is that he is just in his third season and still working like crazy to get the program back. Anyone who is paying attention can see where we are now compared to where we have been. I truly believe that coach Dooley needs another year to show that he is getting us where we all want to be. If we keep jumping from coach-to-coach, then we will be nothing more than Vandy searching for the holy grail. Coach Dooley is a fine coach and pretty much anyone I talk to from other teams feel the same.(no I don't need to hear that stuff that they want us to keep him because he is no good. Seen it before). Yes, last night was VERY frustrating, but these athletes and coaches want to win more than anyone on this forum. Most of you have no idea what it takes to really compete at an elite level. Lighten up, support your team, and give them a little more time. I believe you will be rewarded.

you are a fifth column member. What school are you really backing?

What is so cotton-pickin' great about Gruden? He's still a "has-been" as far as I'm concerned. If we have to replace Dooley, we don't need to be half-assed about it! We need to dole out a lot of money for the absolute most successful, most interested, most available Coach out there! We are rapidly approaching the "pull-out-all-of-the-stops" point.

1.All time NFL record 95-81. Winning record, automatic upgrade

2.Has won a super bowl

3.Has been getting a lot of TV facetime, and is highly recognizable. Great for recruiting

4.Has probably made some friends at ESPN and I bet Tennessee would get a LOT of positive coverage from ESPN

5. 5-4 playoff record-Good with big game

6.Has been a pro coach and can sell that to recruits

7.He was an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee from 1986-1987

8. Been offered jobs at many other prestigious schools and we would be lucky to have him (Oregon, Miami, Louisville)

9.He is well connected

10.He has worked with several great coaches

I respect you for sticking with Dooley...

Sal Sunseri needs to go before Dooley.

It's easy for people to look at a losing team and blame the head coach. They're not looking at all aspects of what is going on.

I am not sure that I completely agree with you, but Sal is not doing an adequate job. Though I am not sure that Dooley is either.

We are officially the laughing stock of the S.E.C. So after a bi-week do we look any better? What did this staff practice for 2 weeks.....air hockey? I swear on my life each week this team gets worse and worse and worse. It is obvious Dooley and this below average staff have peeked and have no more answers

I thought the same thing. We're getting worse. Two weeks to prepare for a team ans we looked like we didn't even watch film.

Who picked Sal to be the D-coordinator? Oh yea, I remember. Time to move on. It's best for the program.

I was at the MSU game & was appauled at the lack of, well, everything. Even with an extra week the coaches had no idea what they were doing. Players & coaches sat around in utter defeat on the sidelines throughout the game. Coaches weren't talking (chewing out) players, players weren't talking to one another. I've seen more emotion & coaching at a JV game. What do you expect when you hire a loser coach with a losing record from a loser conference & put him in THE premier conference. I'm on a Vol Strike until Dudley Do Wrong & crew are gone. Burnt orange has a new meaning. I'm gathering up all my UT gear & will be lighting a fire for Halloween this year. :banghead2:

:rock::rock:Only reason I'm on the fence is I want to see if this team gives a flip about there coaches. After the Bama game I hope to make a decision. Right now I still support this team.
