I want to like Dooley but we need someone else. I like the orange pants but they don't win games.

I've been pro dooley since day 1. With two week to prepare I saw a poorly coached team who executed poorly. After watching Vandy/FL there is now way we beat Vandy this year. It's time for a change.

What's that famous saying?Oh yea Albert Einstient defined Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results!

We have 3 losses against teams with a combined 17 - 1 record. Two of the games were on the road. Their is a lot of football left this season. Any one who wants to fire Dooley is completely ignorant to the realities of team sports and major college football.

We could easily finish this year with 8 wins, which for a team coming off a 5 win year is a pretty good improvement. And as much as I hate losing at least we aren't some garbage team like auburn. And for anyone who thinks this team quit you are braindead:)

Go Vols Lets beat Alabama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats why you have syracuse as your favorite team.Dooley is a joke and because you dont believe it doesnt mean its not true.his resume says hes a joke,he should be fired in the morning. this team is no better than auburn.you can support Dooley to til the end but its going to hurt you that much more when he is fired.

This just shows you how far Tenn has fallen!I remember a time when no game was a for sure loss like now.Dooley has to go now!I think hart will actually pay some real money and get a coach! Not like hamilton, freakin idiot! You hire a bargain basement coach this is what you get!Thanx hamilton,I hope you like it hot!

Ok... I have been an ardent Dooley supporter until today. I am now done with the belief that Dooley will ever right the ship. This is so unfortunate for our great program. If it was at all possible I hoped and prayed Dooley was the right man and could somehow lead us back to the promised land. Some things just become painfully obvious and it is now obvious we are going to have a new HC at Tennessee . The assistant coach ship jumpers from last year may not be dumb after all. In my very amateur opinion, we should cut nearly everyone on the staff loose tomorrow. I take no pleasure In saying any of this. So tired of losing guys. unfortunately if we don't make a great hire this time we won't see 9 wins until 2017or so at least. Steve Miller was right: time keeps on slipping into the future.

I too have been a supporter of Dooley, but it's time to change. At this rate, Penn St will be relevant before we are.

prediction "ESPN breaking news: Sources say Derek Dooley out as Tennessee Head Coach after 3 seasons after the SCAR loss Coiner in as interim for remainder of season".

Our recruiting this year is not on par with what it has been even under Dooley. In fact I don't think it would be that difficult for someone to come in at this point and have at least as good a class as we were going to have under Dooley.

I have been a supporter of Dolley. No longer, we need to spend big bucks and get a top notch coach or do away with the program. This sucks !!! We have loads more talent than Miss State. Pitiful !!

Dooley was a stupid hire. Not enough history as a head coach. But after the way Fulmer was treated, no one wanted the job. We need for Fulmer and Majors to step up, act like men and help us get a top notch coach. Some time has passed and maybe we have a shot at one of the better ones now.

Giving Dooley money to leave is just plain stupid. If he gets money, no one ever should complain about Fulmer's severance package again. Look at what Summitt is getting. If they ask for money for a big hire, we all can chip in more than our usual contribution.

Did I see players walking away while coaches were talking to them today? Maybe they really have lost this team. Maybethe La Tech player was right this week about DD. Let's get the La Tech coach. He did a lot with Dooley's players. Best if we get someone with ties to UT.

Just let Gruden go into the UT coffer and take what he wants.

As far as pedigree, I can understand the hire at a chance. It is hard to understand with a program as rich in tradition why hire all these bammer guys! We have tradition out there in coaching that have some pride in UT and would not let us get embarrassed year in and year out. Goodness, Miss St., Ken., Vandy and I will go as far to say USCe are teams we should out recruit and outplay every year no excuse! We have NFL talent on the oline, qb, wr, dl and maybe lb. But we can not beat Miss. St. With one scoring threat and a qb we should have picked off twice!

I will support these guys because these kids are fighting in a system that could not win in a big highschool. The kids are not being given the best coaching to match the facilities offered at UT, lets support these guys because it takes a lot to go out there and compete week end and week out with clowns as coaches, especially when you know you arguably have as much talent as anyone in the SEC!

Go Vols!

Tonight is the night i join the rest of you on the fire dooley train. I've tried to hang on and hope for the best, but with the talent we have we should be better than we are. Don't know who we would bring in as a coach, but i think it's in better shape than when dooley first came in.

That is really the question, who would we bring in? Outside of Gruden, who hasn't expressed any interest publickly that I am aware of, who would Tennessee go after? I am not aware of any Spurriers or Sabans or Carrolls coming out of the pro ranks to throw a gazillion dollars at to bring here. There really is no "hot" young coach prepping at a lesser school to be snapped up by our program, so "Who Would We Hire?"

I agree with the bulk of the posters on here that Dooley has one leg over the edge and the other one on a banana peel but, in his defense, crap he can't do anything about what keeps happening on the field. If Bray doesn't fumble against Georgia, who knows? If Devrin doesn't fumble on the 30, who knows? I'm sure Dooley didn't go to each of them and say, "Let's fumble the ball and see what happens!" Maybe we are a million miles away from where we want to be, but maybe we're closer than we think.

I'm tired of losing. I'm tired of trying to find excuses for why we lost this one or that one. I want to beat Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and ALABAMA and I want to beat them savagely.

My perspective might be slightly different from a lot of posters on here. I started following Tennessee during the Bill Battle years. The first Tennessee game that I ever watched was the game against Penn State on ABC when Bobby Majors almost single handedly dismantled Penn State. I had to suffer through the last Battle year when we couldn't beat the Blind School. It took Johnny Majors five years before Tennessee started really competing in the SEC again. I remember what it is like to lose to Alabama for twelve years in a row.

So what am I saying? Take the long approach not the short one. If Dooley is not the coach then he is not the coach but he is rebuilding a badly depleted program. I hate losing. I hate watching my beloved Vols come up short time and time again. I hate losing to Florida and I am going to hate losing to Alabama next week but, you know what, we could beat them. We could beat South Carolina. I truly believe that Tennessee is very close to winning again. I believe that we are close to competing on the SEC and National stage. Will Dooley be the coach? I don't know. I do know that no good thing lasts forever and know bad thing lasts forever. Tennessee is due for good things happening to them and, I believe, Coach Dooley is just as capable of getting them there as anyone.

We have a talented team. We lost the game because of mental mistakes. Fooley has proven he's 0-13, and he's going to be fired like bobby v.
