I wish I could hunt down the citation (this could happen, but no time soon), but what I read is that unlike flu, where you’re usually symptomatic by day 3, it can be a week before you’re symptomatic with COVID-19. In the meantime, you can be shedding virus (=contagious) like crazy.
A recent study found that even those who were positive but asymptomatic (my phone seriously hates this word), by day 3 or so AFTER the blood was pulled for the test, they were then showing symptoms.
So the current belief seems to be that even the tests that appear to be false positives (=test positive but really aren’t infected) are often actually true positives (=test positive, are really infected, but aren’t yet seriously symptomatic, but will be in a few days.)
Wash your hands with a lot of soap every time you come back home from your office or the store or any welder have close contact with possibly infected people/ surfaces, sneeze and cough into the crook of your elbows, keep a six-foot distance between you and those who are not your snugglebunnies, and (as my 90+ mother-in-love always said, act like you’ve got some sense.
Stay safe, y’all.
