The Official CoronaZoneVirus Thread

So I have been hearing people testing positive but fill fine as asymptomatic. So if you just run a fever does that make you symptomatic?

Running a fever is A symptom for a lot of viruses, including this one, so then you become symptomatic, doesn’t mean you have Co-vid 19, just means you’re showing signs of one of the symptoms. That is usually the one that shows up first, why everyone is taking temperatures before they go in extended care facilities.

Asymptomatic means without symptoms. By definition, a fever would be a symptom. Wtf am I missing in this, lulz.

General rule is 98.6. As I stated, it can be different for anyone, example I gave, I usually run a little low, so if my temperature is 98.9, I have a fever. The guideline, at least for us is 100. There are people that run at around 99, doesn’t mean they have a fever.

I wish I could hunt down the citation (this could happen, but no time soon), but what I read is that unlike flu, where you’re usually symptomatic by day 3, it can be a week before you’re symptomatic with COVID-19. In the meantime, you can be shedding virus (=contagious) like crazy.

A recent study found that even those who were positive but asymptomatic (my phone seriously hates this word), by day 3 or so AFTER the blood was pulled for the test, they were then showing symptoms.

So the current belief seems to be that even the tests that appear to be false positives (=test positive but really aren’t infected) are often actually true positives (=test positive, are really infected, but aren’t yet seriously symptomatic, but will be in a few days.)

Wash your hands with a lot of soap every time you come back home from your office or the store or any welder have close contact with possibly infected people/ surfaces, sneeze and cough into the crook of your elbows, keep a six-foot distance between you and those who are not your snugglebunnies, and (as my 90+ mother-in-love always said, act like you’ve got some sense.

Stay safe, y’all.

Edit to add: “any welder”, whiskey tango foxtrot
