Didn't see my team's thread on here anywhere so I decided to go ahead and start this up.

Boring draft for Bobcat fans and it depresses me when I look back at all of our previous drafts. This team cannot draft talent at all....

We also can't sign any of the big name FAs out there so it looks like a very similar season will happen this year. Around .500 and maybe a playoff berth.

Go Cats!

Chandler will not opt out.
Also, Sherron Collins will join the summer league. That could help guard depth if Felton leaves for Miami.

Yeah just heard about Felton today. It sucks to see all these FA moves and the Bobcats not going to be in any of them...

Felton going to Knicks and the Bobcats are trading proven Boris Diaw in a three-way trade for.... Dwayne Jones....

The Bobcats front office sucks!

Bobcats trade Tyson Chandler and Alexis Ajinca to Mavs for Dampier, Matt Carroll and Eduardo Najera.

Something big is going down in Charlotte. Rumors all over the Bobcats boards are CP3 and or Melo or Roy for Augustin, Jax, Wallace and first rounders (could be just blowing smoke, not getting my hopes too high, but still...).

Stay tuned on this one...

Cp3. Roy and melo aren't going anywhere.

All are Nike/Jordan athletes. MJ is owner. This might hold some weight but we'll see I guess.

It's very fishy that the Bobcats acquired people they cannot afford and that some other teams want (Dampier). If the Bobcats made this trade and aren't pursuing CP3, Melo or Roy, then everyone in the FO is a moron...

MJ connection? I seriously doubt that matters for anyone. The Blazers are still in the midst of a PR fiasco after the way they offed Kevin Pritchard, and the fact that there will be no GM for the majority of this free agency (another reason there is zero percent chance Roy gets traded). Trading B-Roy before his contract is up would be a disaster of Jail Blazer-esque proportions, as in, attendance and ratings would completely plummet. Especially if it's not for a perennial all-star.

Denver would have similar issues for getting rid of Melo, while they are aspiring title contenders.

CP3 is the only one of the three you mentioned who is even on the trading block, let alone anywhere near it.

It seems to me there is a likely scenario of us sending Dampier/Wallace/1st rd pick to the Hornets for CP3 and Emeka because Emeka's contract is huge. I would still love it if we only got those two though....

I have no idea whats going on with these trades, but I do know that we can't go into the season with the roster as is.

Btw. I HATE DJ Augustine.

And I loved Ray Ray. Sad to see him go. He's been one of my favorite athletes since his freshman year with the Heels.

Possibly. There are quite a few teams in the Chris Paul sweepstakes. Yours might be up there.

I've got the fingers crossed. Still, even if we were somehow able to land Paul, that leaves us 4th in the east at best IMO (behind BOS, ORL and MIA).

I just wish the 'Cats would have made a much bigger splash in free agency...

4th is pretty darned hopeful... Playoff team, sure, but still pretty far down there, IMO. 5th at best behind your list, plus Chicago and possibly Atlanta and Milwaukee, and that's if you guys get Paul.

I don't hate him but our FO has done a miserable job in the draft ever since the team started. Felton has been the only pick halfway worth anything. The rest, well, speak for themselves...

2004- Emeka Okafor (Bust, Traded)
2005- Raymond Felton, Sean May (Bad, Cut)
2006- Adam Morrison (Bust, Traded)
2007- Brandan Wright (Bust, Traded), Jared Dudley(Good, Traded)
2008- Augustin (Unsure), Alexis Ajinca (Bad, Traded)
2009- Henderson (Unsure)
2010- No picks in 1st or 2nd rds

Just looking at that list makes me :cray:

That's what I meant, even if Paul plays out of his mind and the team gels and Jackson continues his high level of play, our ceiling would be 4th and we wouldn't go far in the playoffs....

All Augustine does is shoot. And not very well.

He also sucks at defense and running an offense.

And I was praying we wouldn't take Morrison, who I thought was one of the most overrated players in NCAA history, because I knew he would be awful. And guess what? He was. It makes you wonder who the GM even is and who has been making some of those decisions.

Oh yeah, Buzz was part of that front office...what a shock!

We need to keep Wallace.

That would be ideal, but to acquire CP3, we'd have to give him up along with a 1st rounder. NO has Collison who has emerged as a legit PG and they need a tough SF. Wallace would be the only way we'd get Paul and it would be a worthy sacrifice....
