The problem starts with the people that make the selection of coaches to hire.

Tennessee has tradition, status, and a legacy. It also has money to spend on a football coach. Lots of money. All that makes for a perfect environment and flexibility to get the best coaches and staff.

Why can't they hire, (let us choose some SEC success examples), coaches like Urban Meyer, Lou Saban, Steve Spurrier, etc?

Instead, they hire Kiffin, Jones and so on. What is their mindset?

Let the AD and the boosters see 20000 to 30000 empty seats in the stadium and they will care. Let the empty cash registers on Cumberland avenue and the rest of Knoxville speak for us and they will care . Its all about money folks . when revenue drops and potential revenue drops(and yes they are already looking at the money for next year) they will care. I haven't went to a game since dooley. I have always thought Jones pretty much sucked . He is a con man. I wont come back to Knoxville for a game until the powers that be want to win. This has really not been the case since dickey was AD. Hamilton was a bean counter that drove our program in the ground with the Haslams help. I still support the team and watch every game but UT will not get a dime of my money until they are committed to win.

I can't think of a reason why the administration would drag this on any further. We know Butch Jones is not the guy. We know he'll be fired. If we wait until the end of the season, we would only be delaying the inevitable while putting ourselves in a worse position for 2018. The best thing for us if we want to be good next year is to have a new head coach named ASAP so he can save this recruiting class and get to work for 2018.

Please UT administration FIRE BUTCH JONES NOW!!!

I'm sure there are some dufusses that will say something but this isn't a term paper. It's a message board. I misspell and misuse words all the time.

Hey, you were right about this game being a blow out. Oops, wrong team winning. Even Josh Dobbs would not have been enough to save Butch's bacon Saturday

I think we all know how this is going to play out. If he gets fired, we won’t go get some big name coach. It’ll be someone who is coaching at a lower level now and winning pretty consistently. With that being said, that person will be available at the end of the season, just like Butch was when we hired him.

The caveat is, of course I would love it if I were wrong and we actually went and bought a big name. History just doesn’t indicate that is what is going to happen.

Until UT is committed to winning instead of just committed to taking fans money , then its not going to get any better. As long as there are butts in the seats they will keep rolling with Butch. Unless UT opens their pocketbook and hires a real coach then this is what the fans better get use to.

That's pocket change to the amount of money they'd make if this was a winning program.
