This what happens when you don't have Tennessee people running your University or your Athletics Dept:
--You hire a Tennessee man who is a 1st ballot HOF coach and
--Replace him with a guy who was not respected by anyone in football at any level and he craps on your program and leaves you in a lurch so they hire...
--The worst football coach in SEC history who continues the destruction of a once proud program that was begun by Kiffin.

What makes you think the Administration will do anything to improve this dumpster fire? Boosters are probably tired of the large buyouts they have been paying on for years.

For the record I really like Butch, I would gladly break bread and have a beer with him any day. I think he is good people, and I think 80% of people I come across are not worth much.....with all that said, I do not see him crawling out of this hole, or psychologically enduring what lies ahead.....it's time to realize when to look ahead.....we need to look ahead. It will be better for both UT and Butch.......unlike some of our recent hires I will always like Butch as a human being, but I don't think he succeeds as head coach here.

I really wanted him to succeed, he is my kinda guy.

Take this for whatever it's worth (not too much), but according to Jimmy Hyams, this is incorrect. Butch's buyout is $2mm per remaining year on his contract (3 years) plus a pro-ration based upon the months remaining until Feb. 28th, which is the end of the contractual "year."

And that may happen. He has never faced this kind of pressure, and he does not seem to be handling it well.

Before UT, he had never stayed at any one place long enough to fully demonstrate his incompetence.

My guess right now may be Scott Frost. UCF is destroying Memphis (and making Riley look like Butch is coaching him).

If bigger names say no thanks, make Frost the offer. He took over a dump and now has them playing lights out in his 2nd year.
