The Official Boston Celtics Thread

Celtics came out & dominated the Sixer from the 2nd quarter on. KG is looking like the younger version in these playoffs. Pierce & Rondo stepped up big tonight. Defense had them on lock down.

Need to step on their throats & take game 4.

Tonight reminded me of 2008. We need to close this series out in 5 and earn some rest. Miami/Indiana will be a 7 game dogfight

Really tough loss on Friday night, looked like we were going to run away w/ the game & go up 3-1 in the series. Idk what happened but the Sixers just took over the game in the 4th.

We need to take game 5 in Boston, I'm worried that if we don't the Sixers might end the series in game 6 back in Philly.

W/ the Pacers looking like they have a legit shot of knocking off the Heat, & the Heat not having Bosh Boston could make a run to the NBA Finals. We need to win game 5 IMO though.

Huge huge win for the Celtics tonight, we could not afford to go back to Philly down 3-2. Bass stepped up big time & minus the 1st quarter KG had a really good game. C's took over the game in the 3rd.

Now let's go back to Philly & end this thing!!

The way this celtics team has came together in the second half/ playoffs has been great to watch. Cmon big four, give us another title!

Game 7 tonight, it's win or go home. This could finally be the end of the Big 3 for the Celtics.

I'm expecting them to get the win at home tonight though, I think Paul Pierce will have a big game. Let's go C's!!!

I'll start this off by saying I never expected us to win this series, I'm hoping we can atleast get it to a game 7 BUT the officiating in the 1st half of last night's game was atrocious, pathetic, & ridiculious. I'm not going to say it cost us the game b/c it didn't, we just played pathetic in the 2nd half but it was the Boston "T" pary in the 1st half last night.

Tonight is another must win game for the Celtics, they can't go back to Miami down 3-1. They need to even this series up tonight. They need to continue getting KG the ball deep into the pain, the Heat have no one that can check him. Rondo needs to continue to attack the Heat. Pierce needs to step up big tonight also. The Heat are going to come out & try to break the C's tonight.

Huge win last night. Now its a best of 3 series. Hopefully we can steal game 5 in South Beach and close it out in 6.

Sad day to think the Big 3 is over. It was a great run, Go Celtics. Time to rebuild and it starts at the draft.

Tough tough loss last night, it was hard watching the Big 3 walk off the court knowing this is likely the last time they all 3 suit up in a Boston uniform. 4 years ago Danny Ainge put Ray Allen & Kevin Garnett on the same team w/ Paul Pierce w/ 1 goal in mind, win a NBA title. They all 3 put their ego's aside to accomplish that. The '08 season was a fun fun ride & left me w/ a lot of memories. I'll never forget the night of Game 6 in the NBA Finals, one of the best sports nights of my life.

Then the amazing playoff run of '10 & being one win away from a 2nd title, one of the hardest nights of my life as a sports fan.

It was a great great ride if you were a Celtics fan. I hate to say it, but if injuries hadn't plagued them in '09 & '10 they could have very likely won 3 straight titles or at least added 1 more.

Wathing the highlights today on ESPN from the past 4 years left me choked up a little, thank you KG, Ray Ray, & Pierce. Go Celtics!!!!

You should be thanking Kevin McHale for gift wrapping KG to the Celtics.

Brandon Bass has opted out of his contract.

Both sides said they have interest of getting a long term deal done. Hopefully they do, I really like Bass being in our lineup.

Boston Celtics selected 6'9" Jarred Sullinger & 7'0" Fab Melo w/ their 2 first round picks last night.

Sullinger was considered a lottery pick after his Freshmen season, his back issues caused him to drop & he didn't have a "flashy" Sophomore year. I'm not very high on the pick, IMO he is to small to be a true PF in the NBA & his back issues have to be concerning.

Fab Melo has some maturity issues, evident by him being suspended for the NCAA Tourney due to academics. But I like the potential of this pick. He is 7'0" which is something you can't teach, & he is a very good shot blocker. I hope we can bring KG back for 1-2 years & let Melo learn behind him.

KG is BAAAAAAAACK!!!

Kevin Garnett is coming back to finish his career w/ the Boston Celtics on a 3 year $34 million deal.

IMO, the 3rd year has to be an option year. I thought they would bring him back on a 1-2 year deal. Pierce only has 2 year's left on his deal. This almost guarantee's that KG & Pierce will retire a Boston Celtics.

Ainge is trying to talk Ray Allen to come back & go out w/ KG & Pierce.

Miami going after Allen hard according to reports...Hope he comes back and they all retire together!

While sources told ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst the Heat have made Allen their top offseason priority, sources confirmed to ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard the Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies are also heavily pursuing Allen.
