Though I’d throw this in the mix why not. Attending college means nothing. Graduates only.

Ph. D., two Master’s degrees and a bachelor’s degree all in science. College taught me how to think but money wise, could have had a large mansion and made more as a certified plumber.
Bachelors, masters, spurned the PhD. had enough of academia. got accepted for mba, said eff it. have taken a couple classes for fun.

Paid for my wife's bachelor's and master's degrees and I'm currently paying for my daughter's Bachelor's and will help with the future Doctorate program all funded by my measly high school diploma.
You should have pushed them to get schollies, do better.

Two degrees from UTK in geography, then went to LSU and got another'n.

That's fine for some folks; not sure it was the best path for me, mighta been happier doing something more practical, in agriculture or construction, maybe. 🤔

BA in Marketing (crap degree) which led to an MBA (TnTech) to have a fighting chance. Advice to the youth. They give you the ASVAB for a reason. Pay attention to where you score strongest...that is where you should focus your career choices or college studies. I did not.

{The whole point of going to Freed-Hardeman was the big 3 pre-professional degrees you start there and finish elsewhere had a 95% acceptance rate accross the board into the finishing universities. Pre-Engineering, Pre-Law, Pre-Med. And I chose marketing. In the 80's, FHU on your application was literally an auto accept to Memphis Med.}

BS Finance, TTU 1974
Took a job in Chattanoogs expecting to get a MBA at UTC. Learned nothing during the first semester. I went to my advisor and told him so. He told me the program was designed for engineers at Combustion Engineering. Combustion has changed hands 2-3 times since then. What a waste of time.

I earned my BArch back in 2007. If I had to do it all over again, I’m not sure if I’d have gone that route.

These days, I’m considering my options for a Masters, either picking the MNR back up now that I’ve hit my 6 months at the new university employer or finding another path that aligns better with my job field. Going for an MPA with an emphasis in emergency management is one idea that I’ve tossed around in my head.

BA in Sociology (worthless major) from UT in 1999

JD from Thomas Jefferson SOL (worthless law school) in 2004

Passed the bar exam on my first attempt, despite the worthless major and law school

What you get your degree in and where you go to school doesn’t really matter. If you are a hard worker and street smart you can do just fine, even if you don’t even go to college.

Trade schools are also a great alternative for folks to make a good living. There is a shortage of trade workers now, so they can make some really good money.

Well, I’m thinking that my plumber out earned me in my first twenty years out of college.

That's exactly the route I encourage for my patients that aren't motivated to pursue a professional degree or don't have the high school grades to do so.

BS in mechanical engineering. I get to work with documents most of the time and occasionally I get to test things that are really cool.
My son just graduated from UT with the same. He is waiting to hear back from a local boat manufacturer after a really positive interview.

So is the military.
