Just thought we ought to have one. "Melissa" is, in my humble opinion, the single most beautiful song in rock history.

It is a beautiful song. I like "Angels" by Robbie Williams and "Angie" by the Stones also, as far as beautiful songs go.

I, too, have appreciated the Allmans, but then I have a soft spot for Southern Rock.

In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, is probably one of the best songs I have heard played. Listening to it on the Live at Fillmore East album they have is AWESOME.

The Allman Brothers Band had so many great songs before Duane got killed. I always liked Whipping Post. There's also a song on one of the Duane Allman Anthology albums called Loan Me a Dime that is a Boz Scaggs song with Duane playing the lead guitar. An all time blues classic with some of the best free style guitar playing I've ever heard.

My favorite Allman brothers song is Midnight Rider. Nothing else comes close for me.

Melissa is without question my favorite alltime song. Midnight Rider, Whipping Post, Soul Shine, Elizabeth Reed, Blue Sky, Little Martha, Stormy Monday are all fantastic. I'm also leaving off many, many others.

Any fan of music in general owes it to themselves to purchase the Fillmore East album

I no longer have it, but my Eat a Peach Tshirt was one of my all time favorite pieces of clothing.

The Allman Brothers are from the town I live in. There are bridges and streets named after them. It's like blasphemy around here if you don't like their music.

I get tired of the comparisons to other southern rock bands. In reality, the Allman Brothers remain head and shoulders above the nearest competitor.

Lynard Skynard wasn't bad, they just didn't hold a musical candle to what the Allman Bros were doing.

"Dont fly, mister blue bird, Im just walking down the road,
Early morning sunshine tell me all I need to know."

Not a bad line.
