Marcus didn't deserve an L so I'm glad that's taken away.
In case you were unaware of the rule:

Marcus left the game leading 5-2 with two runners he was “responsible for” on base. Worst case scenario for Marcus, the reliever allows them both to score. That is 5-4.

Not Marcus’s fault it then became 5-6. He wouldn’t have taken the L.

Maybe someone will be confident they can fix him

Bro needs to hit the portal and a fresh start probably. lol in all seriousness he was solid for us last year and I’m glad he got to be part of that experience. But the regression is insane.

Curley needs to be benched, continuously making errors in critical situations. Easy play for out 3 and he throws it away for 2 runs. I think this also affects other players. Surely they have another player who can play second base.

Criticism should not be levied directly at players. It’s specifically prohibited in the forum rules. The sky is falling “we won’t score again,” “we’re done,” etc. is the stuff that irks me. Everyone on that field (and watching) knows what happened and who did it. Giving up on the game or season, as a result of that play, is silly.
The forum rules says no bashing, there’s some grey area between being critical and bashing IMO

Oh I know. I’m just not trying to bash a player. But also in the rules it states a healthy conversation on a decision is welcomed. I don’t feel anyone has done anything other than question why he is still on the field.
Just like when a QB does not preform well on the field, I'm still questioning why he is still playing!

This isn’t just about stats or errors in a single game. That kid was a Freshman All-American, the starting shortstop on a national championship team, and is about to get drafted. Coaches like Vitello aren’t just managing a box score—they’re managing culture, confidence, and loyalty.

Pulling a guy like that after a rough stretch might make fans feel better in the moment, but it sends the wrong message to the locker room and to future recruits. Loyalty matters. And showing a projected draft pick that you believe in him, even when he’s struggling, speaks volumes about the kind of program you’re running. To Tony’s credit he’s loyal to a fault. That’s why he’s our coach and not LSU’s or Texas AM. That loyalty will likely be overridden by his competitive nature now that we’re entering the post season. He’s not going to trot him out there if he thinks it hurts the teams chance to win when it matters most (post season) and I think it’s pretty clear it’s hurting the team.

Question is, who do replace him with? Antigua has made errors lately too and his bat is worse. You have to quit shifting the entire infield around. What’s the lineup you want to see that’s going to give this team the best opportunity?
