I don’t think anyone at all said we were going to lose or hated on the team. All the negativity is directly pointed at Curley.. and while I usually don’t like pointing at any one player specifically, it’s very much warranted at this point.
Agreed 100 percent. The entire team has played well. That play was very bad and followed it up with a bad AB. Things could even be forgiven if he had flushed it and reached. Everyone has every right to question why he is on the field.

This team continues to punch back. We’ve seen it the last three weeks now. Vandy, Arky and now today. It would be easy to pack it up and they haven’t. Now I don’t think you’d see anyone upset with Curley being taken out, but I still don’t think Tony makes that decision (yet) although I think he’s probably closer than he’s been all season.
This would be a really positive development during the Serrano era. Wins are all that matter when you’re not a bottom of the barrel program just trying to qualify for Hoover every year. Times have changed.

He has -layed every infield position but first base. He has been moved from base to base because he can not field the ball and when he does, he throws it away. Now he is taking called third strikes. He has taken the life out of this team during the last month. Time to cut the cord or, at least, let him ride the bench the rest of the season.
probably not the season….. I think he just needs a game or two at DH to focus on hitting and maybe if he gets that going again it will flow over into his glove. Have to try something.

I know this is the nicest of all the forums and I'm happy it's that way, but a little criticism is okay and warranted in this situation.

Criticism should not be levied directly at players. It’s specifically prohibited in the forum rules. The sky is falling “we won’t score again,” “we’re done,” etc. is the stuff that irks me. Everyone on that field (and watching) knows what happened and who did it. Giving up on the game or season, as a result of that play, is silly.

I've noticed several of our hitters seem to swat at the ball vs swinging through the pitch.
That's part of the reason we see Curley, Reese, Marin fouling a lot of pitches.
That works the pitchers count, on the other hand it's almost luck to put the ball in play.

That usually happens if you’re late. The swatting is just trying to make contact when you know you don’t have time to fully swing

This will get me in trouble but going to say it anyway. He will not be here next year but he isn't ready for the next level and its his own fault.
