The Official #8 Tennessee vs. Texas Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, ESPN

Haha! I want us to dominate all of them…
Nah - I’m just kidding around - everyone has their favorite sports! Mine are football and baseball.

Especially the ATL Braves. Baseball is just such magical theatre - at every level.

To be clear, I wouldn’t trade a Vols NC - or even a final four - for a Braves World Series win or anything…. But it would be close!
🤣

The answer is simple: It makes fans question the integrity of the officials. Especially in a sport that has a history of point shaving.

When the line is 9.5, and a player on the team with the 10 point lead has a player from the other team literally ON HIS BACK! and it is called a jump ball, not a foul, well, that makes fans question the legitimacy of the end results.

You may not think so, and that is fine, but you can't in good faith say that fans don't have a gripe. Especially in betting states. (Disclosure: I am not a bettor for any number of reasons, but if I were so inclined, what I have seen from NCAA refs would keep me from laying any money down on a basketball game.)
The game passed Don Dailey by 10 years ago. The jump ball call was one of the worst calls this season. He should be done for the year.

Bad call is a bad call, who cares what the score is lmao, what a silly thing to say. “Why would you complain about getting shorted on your paycheck when you already have thousands in your savings account?”
Exactly, and these same ppl get on here and say ppl just complain about refs when you lose but like you said bad reffing is just bad. They don't get a reprieve because oh well we won anyway. Mainly because they need to be called out and praised when they don't become the conversation. I always heard if nobody is talking about the refs after the game they called a great game. Its sad that some refs want to be a known star of their profession and show their Butt in the game. Pat Adams is one of many.

On the old 1 to 10 scale, Don Dailey phoned in a 1 for that game.

Coach Barbes will rate him lower than that on his performance review input.

Dude needs to retire such that he can molest border collies fulltime.

Got up early and the replay was on. As I watched, even acknowledging my Orange glasses, the calls were very one sided. One that really set me off was on a dunk by their big guy on Igor I did not pick up real time. Replay it and look at Igor’s position, and the shooter’s off arm massively pushing him clearly in Igor’s cylinder. Compare and contrast that to the call on Chaz. There was contact on both plays, one gets a play on. The followup replay is damning. Give it a watch.

Watch all three fouls on ZZ and the late one on Shack on that in bounds play. I invite others to provide the offsetting errors of omission and commission, including the incidental contact on Gainey pushing him into the backcourt and the multiple times they were allowed to displace a dribbling ZZ, one ending in a turnover.

The no call at the end was absolutely the worst none call I’ve ever seen. Texas player jumps on two of our players backs going for a rebound No foul called . Jump ball possession to Texas. I still can’t believe that no call. Is it me or do they not call over the back on rebounds anymore

Good teams overcome adverse calls. We checked that box, multiple times on Friday. Today's game ... tells us where we are physically and mentally.

p.s. I have seen way too many poor and awful calls and non-calls in SEC tournament.
Somebody should be embarrassed by the staff they put on the floor during this tournament.

Bias is often more evident with NO CALLS more so than one sided whistles. They for sure can be multiplying factors to bad calls when you are on the floor and being on both sides of the contact and the other team repeatedly gets free passes. Fear of overbearing narly coaches?? Crowds?? Not a clue.
