I said the same thing before the tourney started.Go lose the 1st game and rest up because nothing was going to change.

I disagree. There is zero difference in getting 6 days rest vs 5 days rest assuming we play Thursday.

The best thing about this tourney is Gainey came on strong and is getting hot at the right time. Today and yesterday’s game were more worthwhile that being home and practicing instead.

Today was probably the first game all year where I felt like losing Estrella was a difference maker. I’m still beyond proud of how these guys fought today. Cannot wait to get to play someone else that is not a sec team. Let’s go turn the screws on some poor acc or big 10 team now

100% true. I am not so sure we even practice offense. Dont care how good you are on D if you cant score it does not matter.

Indeed. The ONLY Stat that matters is what’s on the scoreboard at the end of every game. We don’t need more shooters, we need more scorers. That’s not taking anything away from our defense, just what it is.

Florida had the best 8 players on the floor today.

And all of them can Shoot and Defend.

Although there were a few suspect calls, I’m not going to blame the refs for this one. Florida just too deep across the board and offensive rebounds just killed any chance we had. Despite the adversity, we came back and cut it to 5 twice but couldn’t get it closer. If we had, Florida might have gotten more nervous and who knows. But Clayton sealed it with those two 3’s.

We are very good but their frontcourt killed us. Florida crushed us on boards and had +10 on offensive glass.

We are playing well heading into to tournament however. Got to get more scoring from more players. Today Okpara, Milicic, Phillips, Dubar and Mashack collectively only scored 19 total points among 5 guys who got a lot of minutes.

We are not the best team in the SEC. But we play with more fight than any team in the SEC. Tip your cap to Florida they earned the Title. Anxious to see the draw at 6. Our lack of scoring threat from bigs may keep us from winning 4 straight but I’m not counting out our team. We will fight to the end just like today.

If they’d won, I think they would have snuck in as the fourth #1. I’m not bemoaning the fact they played; the team seemed thrilled to get one back against Auburn. But it’s still troubling to think about the risk/reward of it.

No doubt, I wonder how much was really at stake for that #1 seed, I guess we will never know
