The key to the game was we got to the bonus with 13 minutes to go. This group of officials was not great but they made the calls on Auburn and finally stood up to Pearl and his complaining. They play defense with assumption the officials can’t call every foul. Chaz is being penalized because he is a big time threat from 3 and he gets held on every possession.

He was saying the talent at the SEC final four could be better than what is at the Final Four in San Antonio.

Also, the comment about the whistles being tighter from here on out. What is he really trying to say?

He was referring to a statistical study done by the Sec associate commissioner for basketball that shows tighter whistles in the first and second round of the NCAA tournament. SEC officials are familiar with the style of play in conference, but Stankey knows officials from other leagues may blow quicker fouls in tournament play. Jay Williams referenced this as well last night.

Didn’t get to watch the game, but glad it was relatively a close one! Would be a-ok with an “Auburn- regular season champs/ Vols- Tourney champs” end of the year. Here’s to hoping both can make the final 4, though I must admit Auburn is worrying me a bit. They peaked too early in the season.

Yep, totally agree....and it's a live thread. Emotions are high and people say things that they don't necessarily mean in how they come out.
IMO, it's a lot different than the comments on the main board. Little more lead way probably should be given. JMO.
