I didn’t see the replay, but it looked to me like the ball was hit perfectly between the Right Aand Center fielders and bounced off the Center fielder’s glove at the base of the wall. I was afraid it was going to be caught, but thank goodness it wasn’t.H
He said in his post-game interview that he thought and still thinks it bounced off the scoreboard. Isn't that a HR if it did? No matter. Got the runs home!
They did and they were against the odds. However, none of us know what he was thinking about saving pitchers for Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately, everything. Worked out for the best. The best part was the team digging in and pulling the last two games from the mouths of defeat. Congratulations to Coach and the team.I think it really needs to be emphasized just how many of the calls Coach V made panned out.
He gets so much criticism during the game thread from the knee-jerk crowd, but in a hard game that is defined by teams overcoming myriad failures, he pulls the right strings more often than not.
Think about how many players contributed today, and in so many different ways.
We are blessed to be witnessing a golden era in Tennessee baseball history. I hope this is just the beginning!
