The Official #6/#3 Georgia (2-0) vs #15/#25 TENNESSEE (1-0) Thread - Zone Edition – Neyland Stadium - Knoxville, TN - September 6 @ 3:30 EST - ABC

Let’s take a moment to reflect on Georgia’s chosen mascot. Bulldogs were originally developed from large, powerful dogs used by butchers to control penned cattle awaiting slaughter. A cruel sport grew up in England where bulldogs were pitted against bulls, which they subdued by biting them on the nose. This “sport” lasted for ~600 years in England before being banned in 1835.

After the ban, breeders in England began to develop the modern bulldog as a companion animal. The 19th century saw an explosion of breeding small companion dogs. Only by its appearance and cruel heritage is the modern bulldog associated with courage and tenacity. The animals are born with health issues and serve no purpose but “vanity” companions to the humans who perpetuate the breed.
My Georgia relatives used to have a bulldog named Hitler...(this was in the 40-50s and people would give them names that struck fear etc) it would bite the nose of the mule and not let go. Mule would come running through with the dog hanging from it's nose. .....mean cuss. Not disciplined enough to be a good hunting dog or companion though. Nor smart enough.

I figgered one of pussums family might be the guest picker but wen dey said it wasnt nose or butt pickin, dey refused

such a big buncha dum all in one place

and it all started with Papaw gettin dat gal pregnant on the Tilt-A-Whirl at the fare

I feel good about this game but hearing someone whose pretty good at this confirm many of my same thoughts does feel a little better. I think TN and take the points is a no brainer though. But honestly it's probably going to boil down to turnovers.....TN should have the edge on a clean game it's homefield and our offensive line have looked sharp from day 1..... If we have a WR break out though.....we win big big. Our WR's vs their secondary is still my biggest fear of weakness. The receiver core has got to prove they can hang with the best secondary in college football.
