Vols guard play is good enough to take them to the promise land. I think big rotation and matchups will dictate if it can happen. Personally think Igor should never be closing a half or the game rest of the tourney which seems Barnes realizes that. Guard heavy teams, vols roll with Mashack at 4, bigger teams roll Cade at 4.

Watching the press conference with Cronin, he pays some high compliments to Z. That he has the talent and consistency that coaches envy.
Also, Cronin doesn't take any **** from the reporters. It was kind of hilarious

After listening to that interview, I thought Cronin isn’t the answer at UCLA. Was salty with the media over nothing they asked. Refused an opening comment where he could have publicly recognized his seniors and team for a successful season. Talked down about UCLA not providing enough NIL$. Talked about having to fly commercial back home and whether he could get something good to eat. Came across as Kevin O’Neal light to me.

He was 3 of 9 from the floor for 7 points. Pretty sure the we had plenty of answers for him. He played in the 2nd half, just got benched early when we went on our run.

The half court trap took them out of their offense. It wasn’t like the big guy was dominating or anything.😆Folks we’re acting like he was Kareem or something.😆GBO

He was their most impactful player in the first half with his rim protection, scoring, passing and rebounding. Thankfully he didn’t have the stamina to keep it going

Yep, but he had missed a front end of a 1+1 that really hurt us early. Then he finally scored his first points on his 5th FG attempt a driving lay-up on the left side and I'm not sure, but I do not think he missed after that FTs or FGs. We really need either Gainey or Igor to score at a good clip and we get both we are about unbeatable. Considering ZZ & Lanier are pretty consistent.

Mashack’s three with about three minutes left was right up there with the Alabama buzzer beater for me. Not as dramatic, but nonetheless huge. UCLA had whittled off a chunk of a 19 point lead and that was the dagger. I’m getting used to seeing really timely production out of him.

He’s shooting the 3 with much more confidence lately and getting good results. Have to wonder if not for the broken finger if he would have shot like this all season?

We need more firepower, when Igor or Mashack get the ball on the left to right progression they are not taking the open 3's. One of them needs to open up and hit 35% or higher if they intend to make the final 4. Great defense but not enough fire power. They are playing championship basketball just need to strain out a little more offense.

Would be nice for D-Stone to step up and contribute 6-8 points a game. No reason he shouldn't be able to at least get a couple buckets a game driving to the basket or getting a put back here and there from an offensive rebound.

He isn't playing a lot of minutes but I just don't feel like his effort is all the way there. Bad officiating and our lack of front court depth is going to cause us to need him to contribute at some point....especially if Igor continues to not play smart.

All true, but if things at UCLA are as bad as he stated and they want to compete for National status, they need to provide the resources needed to get the job done. I realize he is cooking his own goose but it has to be frustrating to run a program under those circumstances.
