The Official #6 [2] Tennessee vs. #2 [1] Houston Game Thread, 2:20 PM ET, CBS

The bright side would've been losing in the FF bro. It's almost like a natty in football.
It’s not a natty, maybe for Tennessee it’s a Natty but for Kansas, UNC, Duke, Kentucky, UCONN , UCLA it is a step closer to hanging another banner in the rafters.

Hate to say it, but if Barnes chooses to come back, which I hope he does, we need to revamp our Bigs. 0 points from Cade. 4 points from Felix. 2 points from Igor. This against a bunch 6-8 guys. Inexplicable. They gave us nothing and were outrebounded im a matchup they should have dominated.

Fekix needs to gain another 15 lbs of muscle. Not sure if Cade will get it together offensively. Same with JP. These guys won't have Zeigler feeding them the ball either.

I'm not convinced Houston was just a flat out better team. Tenn just decided to wet the bed like few teams do.
Basketball is a fickle sport Houston could go out and miss everything vs Duke you never know they looked good today. I remember when Bama looked unbeatable hitting record number 25 3s then they missed everything vs Duke and got blown out.

Sometimes, you have a matchup problem. They have a guy that can guard ZZ. They can make life difficult for Lanier. Tennessee doesn't score in the post and their bigs can't play as a "stretch 4", although that''s what Igor is supposed to do.

Aren't many options to turn to.

In a lot of ways, Igor not doing what Igor is on the roster to do was a lot of the problem.
Pretty much spot on

Houston did to us what we did to Kentucky. They shot lights out and we couldn't break 35 percent.
Exactly correct. Hate it but that was a bad matchup for UT. 3 - 6’8” players that have 7’ wingspans and shoot over 40% from the 3 point line. ZZ couldn't drive today with their length and that really hurt the offense. He was no threat to score and couldn’t kick out for a three as they all collapsed. When it counted, Gainey was the only threat to score.
Agree, need at least 3 shooters next year and a big that can finish under the basket.

Winning in March Madness is so hard, because of your first point. Matchups are everything.

We make it to a F4 last year if we have the same road Alabama had.

Basketball is just a tough sport and so sporadic game to game. Sometimes your shots just don’t go in, and that’s all apart of it

Unpopular opinion (maybe): Barnes and his staff got the absolute most out of the squad this year.

Lanier ended up being a little too streaky for our #1 option and Estrella getting hurt really hurt us down low. Igor really fell off the last month or so of the season

Elite 8 with this group is something that should be celebrated, IMO.

Was just thinking the same. We have to get more offensive threats and secondary scorers on the roster moving forward.

Can’t rely on one guy to score and not having a back to the basket big kills us in scoring droughts.

I will miss ZZ, JM and JG. CL was an “OK” one year rent and IM turned out pretty “meh”.
OK? He hit more 3s than anyone in the country and was our leading scorer. DK spoiled you after 1 season. And we better HOPE we can find someone as good this year or an E8 will not be in our sights.
