The Official #6 [2] Tennessee vs. [15] Wofford Game Thread, 6:50 PM ET, TNT

Good opening game. Never really threatened, but they stuck around enough for us to play hard the entire game.

Anyone comparing teams that have bigger wins in round 1, just remember back to the year we had Chandler and had a massive blowout and was everyone’s most impressive win in the first round, and then we lose to Michigan in round 2. This was a good win, enjoy every one of them.

To be fair, Wofford scored 61 points when we played them at home last season. They scored 62 points tonight.

Not a thing of beauty, but it doesn’t have to be. Survive and advance. Winning by 15 on a night where we really didn’t have it is fine by me. Regroup, play better on Saturday, get our butts to Indy. GBO

UCLA more talented but plays same slow paced style as vols but not as well. Utah state less talent but dangerous offensive 3 point shooting team
So we rather play ucla? A hot three ball team can pull an upset

Vols controlled this game start to finish. But following this board we won on last second shot. These teams made it to tournament and have some players that can play give them credit. Very good 1st round game now get ready for next round. Go Vols. In CHRIST Alone

Wofford has a pretty good little team. I don’t mind getting a little test in the first game. Gets their attention so they don’t think they are all that.

Dude just checked in for Wofford that looks like Specs from Sandlot. “Been planning it for years.”
That was what I felt as well. Wofford would take our best shot, then hit the most timely three’s. Would have been 18 point win except for that late three on Wofford’s last possession.

Wofford was able to keep it interesting, but I never felt a fear that we would blow this game.

Will be a good opening win that will allow Barnes some good teaching points.

SOCON conference league is tough they have pulled upsets in the past. The are rarely a 15 seed. Past Vols teams have played tight. Vols will be fine.

Wofford was a scrappy decent team, just glad we won and it wasn't really close. That had to be Lanier's best all around game in my eyes. He was lights out for the entire game instead of just one half. Happy to be moving on. It was a good day.

Should have seen this coming; in 2023, Tenn was a 31 point fave over Wofford, won by 21. Barnes is not a good bet to cover.
