The Official #5 Tennessee vs. #6 Alabama Game Thread, 4:00 PM ET, ESPN

No they call him a liability on the court. That's very different

Exactly. Mashack might not shoot from outside often enough to keep opposing defenses from sagging off him but he does pop a 3 occasionally at a solid percentage and also gets downhill and finishes at the rim, does a nice little turn around hook or gets blasted by the defender's body which rarely gets called. Would I like a little more production? Yeah.

But how do you quantify Mashack's disruption of the opposing offense, how he shuts down (or at least limits) the other team's best scorer and all the steals, tips, blocks, rebounds, recovering to stop or contest transition buckets? Bottom line is that the many things that he does far more than compensates for the few things he doesn't do on offense. And that's not even mentioning his effect on his teammates and our program.

I've listened to the Bob broadcast numerous times... Glad someone else is coming in. No offense but I felt like I was listening to a funeral.

Seriously. And Oats didn't say a single thing to credit Tennessee or even acknowledge them. Just went on about being the better team for 39. and a half minutes. Meanwhile Rick's over there talking about respecting Alabama. Tsk tsk.
Probably just his way of politicking for the 1 seed with a little whine included. They got the ref benefit overall without question. Yea, some went our way but they got far more.

Edit: They got far more calls/no calls in the crucial last couple of minutes.

Man, if some people can't understand that in a live thread emotions are high, I don't know what to tell them. Hyperbole will happen.
If someone say something like " ZZ play is garbage".....they are really just saying that ZZ is not playing up to his abilities in this particular game. They may not necessarily think he is a garbage player.
Agree. That’s why fan is short for “fanatic.”

The average fan can easily contextualize a dunk or a 3, but not the type of things that you're talking about above.

But it SHOWS a tremendous lack of rationality of thought to put the concept into play for interpretation by the rest of the FREE world.
Sports are supposed to be an escape form reality. If someone wants to vent on a message board, so be it. It’s a time to let loose, watch a game, and then discuss- th good and the bad.

Yeah, that's cool, but the manner of venting can be negative exposure for idiots. It's their right, of course, but it's also a right to call out unnecessary disparaging. Being a dumbass isn't all that insulating

We’re wasting our time on trying to talk reason into these people that post things like “we may lose our next 6 games”

You can’t reason a person out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into.

They are doubling down that they have a right to their stupidity. So I say let them have it.

Does anyone know who asked Shack the dumb question in the post-game presser? Something like, "A lot of fans think the team is better without you on the floor. How do you respond to that?" His response was epic, but I'm just wondering who asked such a stupid question.

Thanks for totally supporting my venting on this board about posting shortcomings. Those are as real as turnovers and bad shots, in fact some are bad shots as well. Except no one is in your face and the clock is not running.

Care to link his response?

Small puffs here from a little, classic, Boomer bowl

A little crumble and a 90% vape pen from the local Curaleaf kept me calm during the game but adrenaline took over watching Mashack will us to victory. Celebration with previously mentioned items resumed shortly after.

Quality individual who shows how hard work and dedication can provide a premium. Never mind how he spends his down time giving back to the community

Yep. One of the easiest people on the planet to root for. The type of guy you kinda hate but begrudgingly respect if he plays for a rival and begin to actively like once he is a pro, if he makes it. Not many guys fit that mold and we have 2 of them at the same time.
