You are on the right track. I have been a fan of Big Star (not the grocery store) before many bands began citing the Memphis band as having a major influence in their music and contend that Alex Chilt[on and crew belong in the Rock HOF/How’d you come to your avatar? Memphis?
In high school I lived a couple blocks from Rhodes. Close enough to listen to albums at night from their .00005 watt student run radio station (broadcast from room above the gym if I remember) Back in early 70s it was a beautiful area.You are on the right track. Having grown up in Tennessee, with a UT family, I became an ardent Vol fan before I could count to 10. Ardent studio became, my Mecca when our son was at Rhodes and we continue to enjoy treks to Memphis

I love that area, and the handful of the Memphians I know or knew had homes in that neighborhood. inc;ludiing an East HS grad who I dated fpr a year while in college. When my son was accepted at Rhodes, my motherconfided that she had wanted me to have chosen Rhodes for college, And if I had, I would been a classmate of Big Star founder Chris Bell. who spent a year at UT,In high school I lived a couple blocks from Rhodes.
