Rules question for yall… not sure it was discussed here or the livestream as I had to watch with no volume. I can’t remember what inning it was, but someone (maybe Ensley) struck out but the ball hit the dirt. The catcher had to throw down to 1st for the put-out. The 1B caught the ball and pretty clearly stepped on the green bag, so our batter had to use the white bag. Is the fielder allowed to step on the green bag for an out? What if he had dropped it? Would it have still been an out because the runner used the white base? We didn’t challenge it, so I assume it was fine (or maybe my eyes deceived me and the 1B got the white base as I was only halfway watching on my phone), but I was just curious.

Great win tonight!

The green bag is to avoid collisions. If you watched the catcher on the play, he gestured to 1B , “hey, we got this make my throw easier”. Thus no need for review. An out is an out. If 1B drops the throw the runner is safe, just like any other baseball play. Hope this helps.

Okay. I admit it. Had to. Not Proud of it. I casually made the late night stroll into the FF. I didn’t post, but it made me thankful for what we have here. Good golly Ms. Molly. Waffle House is gonna be packed tonight!!!
I just got back, things were pretty calm while I got my takeout order.

It’s been a minute since I’d been there, those ham, egg and cheese hashbrown bowls are really good.

Dropped 3rd strike that rolls to foul territory on 1B side of plate, 1B is allowed green bag for a clean throw from C, and runner has normal white bag in this case. It’s the only exception to runner having green bag when ball is in the infield.
