The Official #3 Tennessee vs. Wake Forest Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, ESPN2

Great game today. Nice to see the big attendance. The 10-year old girl that kicked the back of my seat throughout the game was a real bummer. Her father refused to address the problem.

I didn't get to see the game (last minute shopping) but from the box score it looks like Alexander had the game of his life. 9-10 fg's, 8 rebounds, 19 points in 30 minutes... very nice!

Right on and Fulky needs a lot of improvement. Bone must keep looking to shoot. I think Alexander is getting a little stronger around the basket every game and that is a must. He can be the man. JJ needs to find a 2 pointer in his game. I'm afraid if Fulky doesn't continue to improve he will begin to lose minutes. Disappointed in his play isn't really improving. The number of 2 pointers made today was a great sign to me.
He gets the ball in the low post at least twice not strong to the basket he needs to finish strong

Seems to me that you refused to address the problem. Don't allow yourself to be a doormat, then complain about the person using it.

I think there's a lot of frustration. You can kinda sense it when RB is asked about it
I think the doctors have cleared him to play but he's still having some psychological issues with trusting the shoulder ect...Now that's me reading between the lines but I think CRB has made it clear that's where it stands. No criticism to Lamonte because shoulder pain is the real deal. I'm experiencing it in both my mine now and it effects my golf swing probably as much as any pain including the lower back. You tell your body to push through it but when youre trying to play without thinking about it the body will stop short, alter the direction of the shot (both golf and basketball) etc and it just gets worse the more you try to fix it. Hopefully Lamonte will be back sooner rather than later...

I believe, from watching him air ball free throws, he has not regained his touch. Give him all the time and support he needs and he will be back.

Fulkerson's 2 misses we're good looks. He can score with the short little hook near the basket. Wake Forest's posts can leap... Fulkerson probably hurried them a bit. He needs to keep shooting. He's needed to spell KA.

One of the best things that I saw... Fulkerson and Walker had their arms around each other when leaving the court. That's pretty cool to see when they're competing directly with each other for playing time.

Turner still sits out during the layups in warmups. He stood off to the side and favored his left arm as each player in line high fived or fist bumped him.

Big Jim Haslam was back court side (the Governor was there too) after missing a game for shoulder surgery.

Nice win and with his shoulder issues, I am wondering if Turner might end up like Antonutti and Brooks and take a medical scholarship at the end of this season.

He already redshirted as a freshman. 6 years are rare and are usually from sitting out 2 consecutive years due to the same injury.

Edit: never mind, I was thinking medical hardship rather than "retiring" from participating and staying in school and completing his degree.

I was at the game. It's interesting that Turner doesn't participate in warm ups and only uses his right hand/ arm to give " five" to the other players. Maybe more to this than we know. Hopeful he plays when SEC starts but I'm getting very concerned.

I hope he gets back on Barnes’s good side, we need his offense coming off the bench.
The thing is I don’t think we need his offense that bad. We could use him being clutch; however, Admiral has shown he can fill that role. What we need him to do is play defense, run the offense, and spell our other guards. When he came back he was so focused on trying to score rather than filling what the team needs. I think what is causing the frustration with Barnes is that Lamonte can help the team without scoring, but Lamonte is so focused on trying get back to being the scorer he was, when the team really doesn’t need him to fill that role.

Jalen Johnson could potentially fill the off-the-bench scorer role that Turner was giving. Bowden also looks like he's improving as a backup point guard. Bowden can defend as well as Turner. What TN really misses without Turner is all of the rebounds that he'd chase down. He's as good of a rebounding guard that I remember.

On play of FULKY read that he is playing with sore shoulder. Can't find where I read it but it was about him and Turner. Hopefully both gets back to 100% because they will be needed.

If you watch Fulky play you can see why he would have a sore shoulder. When he drives he tries to use his shoulder like a hammer (weapon). Well, when he drives or when he is under the basket. I'd like to see the kid play straight up more and find himself a nice little jumper. It could prolong his minutes in a game. We need every able bodied person we can get.

Bowden is playing well right now, and has replaced turner as a scoring punch off the bench, but he tends to disappear in big games. That being said Turner thrives in big games , and he thrives in clutch situations(Bowden tends to fall apart when the pressure is on, see the end of the Kansas game when he dribbles off his foot for no reason). Turner is a scorer, and scorers want to the ball in there hands during crunch time. We will need him by the time March rolls around to be the scorer he was last year. Here’s to hoping he gets back in the groove!

My husband and I both addressed the problem, however her father insisted she wasn't doing a thing. Irresponsible parenting. ⚘
