Well what did you get?

I can say I'm pleased with the SDR ("Quasimodo", my 638, provided for scale). Roughly J-frame dimensions, with 6 rounds of .357 / better sights / great trigger.

I like the convenience of the removable cylinder/crane assembly, especially for cleaning.

Always loved a good wheelgun. Used to have a Ruger SP101. Still regret selling it.

Wife has the S&W M&P Bodyguard in .38. Purse gun. I shot it once. Recoil manageable; Laser helps; but this is a 5-yard gun, which is exactly what I got it for.

(sigh)

Do. Not. Need. Another. Handgun.

Does VN have an "Addiction Support Line" for gun owners? Asking for a friend.

I hear ya on the need for a support line, haha. I definitely have a special place for revolvers, because that's what my grandpa had (and what he taught me to shoot at the farm way back when).

I regret trading away my Ruger Security Six I had around 15 years ago. Perhaps the support line could have a "Press 2 if you're considering selling or trading a gun you'll eventually miss" or something?

This thread.

P.S., you ABSOLUTELY NEED another handgun

I keep coming close to pulling the trigger on that deal. Seems like about as much fun as $350 can buy, and it would have several practical uses.

Instead, I picked up a dealer demo Franklin Armory binary trigger for my 9mm PCC. Should have it by the weekend to do the install and give it a run. I'll report back. Really considering a forced reset next from Rare Breed.
I'm going to eventually lol.

If...IF...I were to finally break down and acquire a .308 rifle, what would the collective suggest?

What with me being a serious Springfield aficionado, I'm leaning towards the Saint Victor .308, or the Scout Squad. And, of course, a solid variable power optic on top. Something that would give me "reach out and touch something" in the 300 yard range.

I'm probably just wishing out loud, since by the time I get the rifle, optic, ammo (I like to have at least 100 mags of good ammo), spare mags, and case...well...it won't be a cheap undertaking. So it's on my mind, but my wallet is saying "Not so fast, my friend."

What's that support line number again?

;)

I’m going back to a bolt action.
Tikka T3 CTR (with 10 round mag).

The Saint isn’t terrible (I had a 5.56 Edge)*. I do love Springfield pistols.

It really depends on what your goal is.

*I do have the Hellion

I have a streamlight tlr4 laser/light combo. I was going to put it on my P10 but I didn’t want to have to get a new holster. I ended up sticking it on my CX4 storm for the time being. Might be overkill on the hellcat.
Both of those are house guns. I don't use a light on my carry gun (Hellcat).

The only other light I have is the SureFire X300U-B which is on my Nighthawk Custom GRP Recon

I will probably pick a few more of the Braun lights up for the price.

I have a Scout Squad I bought off a friend over a decade ago, and it's a fine rifle. That said, if your main objective is accuracy at 300+ yards with no other controlling factors (i.e. quick follow-up shots, etc), I'd lean toward a solid bolt-action and put the difference into the glass and mount. I already had an A-Bolt II (albeit in .30-06), so when the opportunity to but this arose, I went for it.

My fiancé has been carrying my hellcat for awhile so when I carry lately it’s the P10C. I can’t even remember why I bought the light, must’ve been bored. I can always swap it over to the AR when the apocalypse hits.

I'm a Sig guy, and I love my 716.

Victor Saint is sweet. Especially with the ATN thermal scope. Hard to believe you can have that much fun with your clothes on.
But for the 300 yard range, the Browning X bolt topped with Vortex makes me smile.

Finally got the Ruger PC Charger out for a run with the new Franklin binary trigger. Incredible. I was actually able to keep reasonable groups even with continuous pulls. One FTF in about 200 rounds, but I was using budget ammo.

It certainly increases the "x in y" rate so debated in the Politics forum, LOL.

We got to have 9 random shooters to get an average fire rate that can’t be controlled no matter what. 😂🤣

I'm on the fence on those. For the price, what do I get in terms of ROF -vs- accuracy? I'm talking 5.56 carbine here. With my SBR, topped with an Aimpoint CompM4S, accurate follow-ups at 50 yards are easy. Maybe a second at 100. Does the binary trigger make that easier / faster?

I have experience with FA, mainly the HK MP5. Sweet gun. Some with a Colt. The MP5 was manageable, but the Colt was hard to stay on target at anything past 25 yards. Then again, I'm an average shooter on a good day...downhill...with a tailwind.

Never cared for bump stocks. Waste of money, and ammo, IMO. But to each their own.

You, YV, and a few others here really seem to know your way around firearms, so I read your posts with an open mind. I know a little, and I've done a few things over the years, but I don't have a single "fun gun" in my armory. Everything I own has a single purpose: lethality. The more, the better. Helps explain my affection for the .45ACP cartridge, I guess.

So if you get time, a follow-up "range report" would be appreciated.

Like we all know, "fast is fine, but accurate is final."
