The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Question for Grand, or whomever, with a legal sbr or suppressor, as long as I am with the firearm as the tax stamp holder, are others in my presence allowed to use it?

Thanks. Someone was telling me that they had to be listed on my trust to use it even if I was there. I said I didn't think that was so.

They just can't be in possession of it without you being right there. It's no diffferent than someone renting one at a shooting range.

Anyone else see that Bass Pro has the DPMS AR-15's for $499 with a $50 rebate? Picked one up today.

Rebate only good through 10/15, act fast. They are absolutely giving these things away.

You know what DPMS stands for?

Didn't Pass Military Specs.

Maybe, but for $450 it'll be a fun plinker. My neighbors would thank me for not using as a home defense rifle. DPMS is now a Remington product along with Cerebrus and Bushmaster.

I don't plan on putting 100k+ rounds through it so I can live with it not having Colt on the side.

I'm not much of a rifle snob but will be the first to point at my H&K usp and turn my nose up at Glocks.

Actually owned by Cerebus Capital under the "Freedom Group" name and also owns Advanced Armament, Marlin, H & R, Dakota Arms, Para USA, Tapco and Barnes.

But Remington of today isn't what it was years ago. My response was tongue in cheek and I hope you enjoy your soda can plinker for the 600 rounds it will last before you ask me what's wrong with it and I remind you "well, Septic, you bought a DPMS."

FTR, I wouldn't buy a Colt these days either even if it is the "industry standard." Either I build it or buy BCM.

I would point at my finely crafted 1911 and turn my nose up at your blocky marvel of German engineering with the most horrid trigger ever made for mankind while reminding you 'Murica won WWII and German guns were the losers.

Grand --- what are your thoughts on the FNS-9? I love mine.

I've never heard anything bad about them. Don't have any experience with them, but they get good reviews.

Just not a terribly popular pistol so to speak. I don't know if that's marketing or the fact the market is somewhat saturated with polymer striker pistols, but all told it's supposed to be a decent pistol.

Thanks for your response.

Anyone experienced the Springfield EMP4, SR 1911 in 9mm, and/or a commander(ish) size Kimber 1911 in 9mm? I'm not looking for a debate on pistol types. I am comfortable with 1911, but am looking for a 9mm. Leaning towards the EMP4 but am a little concerned about parts availability.

I have a Kimber commander sized 9mm.

It's real picky on mags.

Thanks for that info. I am trying to help my better half transition to a more manageable caliber without feeling underpowered. I am kind of tall and lanky and can put a government model a lot of places on my body. I think I oversold her on the .45 acp cartridge.
