The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I've have no clue what's going on. This gun jams every 4-6 rounds. I have had it a week! Today I noticed that the jammed rounds are bent when I get them out of the gun. I've tried 3 different brands of ammo, different mags (1 metal), and the issue keeps happening. I'm on hold with S&W now. Freaking pissin me off! Anyone ever seen something like this???

Specifically, what is it not doing? Fail to fire? Fail to extract? Partial extraction? Fail to feed?

Fails to fire. Round that doesn't fire is actually bent. I'll post a picture later. Smith & Wesson said that my ar is a special addition and it sounds like to them the barrel wasn't realigned properly when they put the "special edition" pieces on it. So I'm sending it in and they said it will be perfect when it comes back. We shall see.

It's hard to tell from the photo but there is a pretty good dent and bend on the round that jammed.

Is it just me or does that round look bent at the neck?

I can't say for certain, but that looks like a seriously out of spec chamber. Send it to S&W and let them fix it. WOULD NOT TRY TO FIRE IT AGAIN!

It is definitely bent. Sending the gun back tomorrow for repair.

Feed ramp and chamber not properly aligned?

Did it fire other ammo the same way or did you just try the green tips. Didn't you say you took it back to the gun store and they got it firing properly?

I tried 3 different brands of ammo. Gun shop just oiled it up really good and said they didn't see anything wrong with it.

Seems like if it was a mechanical issue it would be a constant issue and never work properly. You're doing the right thing by sending it back. Too much money spent on a gun for it not to be perfect. Hopefully they turn it around quickly for you.

Caught a case of gun fever and bought another rifle. Marlin 336 30-30
