Grand:

I put a new gas block and tube on the 6.8 today. I double checked the alignment and tightened​ set screws. I'm about out of ammo so I only out 4 in the mag. First two went just fine. Third round didn't chamber. Chambered it and the fourth chambered and fired. It also held open on an empty mag. I think it's fine now, just needs a few rounds through it.

The other AR where the bolt fails to seat I haven't had a chance to mess with it yet. I still think it's that rough a$$ PSA bolt.

I'll add I'm not a fan of the PSA BCG. It's causing problems in my 300BO now. Intermittently jamming. I think it's the rough phosphate coating. Probably won't go that route again.

Keep shooting it. PSA does have a tendency to have a bit thicker coat from time to time. But nothing shooting and good lubrication won't solve.

The bolt, when it rotates in feels sticky to me. I've lubed it up good. Hopefully just needs to be broken in a bit.

And honestly, if you think PSA is bad for the coating, you should have seen my Daniel Defense M4V3 when I first got it. Absolutely flat refused to cycle on some weak ass Tula I had. I ended up having to break it in with M193 spec stuff before it would reliably handle the Russian loads.

Keep shooting, it will break in.

That's one of the great internet myths about how "unreliable" the AR series is. I got into a heated argument with a person about it a long time ago and how "craptastic" the Colt he owned was. Said it wouldn't shoot right out of the box. No **** Sherlock, you need a little bit of break in time. "Well, my AK didn't need any break in time."

Yeah, that's because it was built with loose enough tolerances to make it look like a child wearing a size 15 adult shoe.

Anyway, an AR, depending on manufacturer, does require a bit of a "break in" period. Normally everything smooths out after 100-150 rounds or so.

Yea, I realize that. This bcg has been the worse of any of them. Like you said, I'm sure it will wear off soon.

Ok, Grand.

I finally got back the rifle I put together for a friend. If you recall, it would chamber the round manually fine, fire the round, eject the round, put another round in the chamber, then not fire it. It turns out it isn't in the BCG. It is in the FCG. On cycling it cocks the hammer back but it does not reset the trigger. I simply pulled the trigger back to the fire position and it fired. After that I couldn't get it to malfunction again. I wonder if it could be a weak spring. It's a no-name mil spec FCG.

Make sure the spring is in the right way.

I've only fired a P30L once and that was all it took. I'll stick with my 229.

After the John Wick movie was released a few years back, those P30s began showing up more often @ 3 gun matches. Hollywood definitely helps certain gun manufacturers from time to time.

Grand, thought you might be interested in the outcome of that AR that was having issues with the FCG. After I manually reset the trigger it has not malfunctioned once. He dumped two mags through it yesterday and it never hiccuped once. I wonder if it might have had a burr on the sear. Anyway, he appears good to go.

They were pretty interesting. Marines special operations returned them due to finish wear issues, Colt sent them new pistols for replacement. So they are Marine issued M45A1, USMC rollmarked pistols that come with a letter from Colt. You had to be a GunBroker gold member to buy one. So $50 for that plus $1350 for the pistol and course shipping and FFL. Sold 700 pretty quick but 500 of those were in large purchases, so I'm sure they'll show up online or on a table for 2000.

Wouldn't have one personally.

Check out the .mil testing reports on them. Cracked frames at less than 10k rounds comes to mind immediately.
