The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

If you can find them. D&H is another brand that has a good reputation for 5.56 mags and makes a 6.8, but I'm not sure about the quality of the 6.8

I've found them around. They are like $15 as opposed to $40.

On another note, I came across these guys. I've ordered some stuff but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm putting together one for a friend and have less than $500 in it and it has a SS barrel and flash hider. I'm sure it's not going to be precision but it should be good for a budget build.

They do.

I tend to hold my AR in a C clamp type grip so the hand stop would be perfect. However, when doing sustained firing, that front end gets a tad warm especially if you aren't wearing gloves. So the stubby was perfect for changing my grip to continue firing. I started using a vert grip while I was still active and changed to the C after I went to mid length actions and gas blocks/extended handguards. So, it's not entirely foreign to me to use a vert grip. The stubby is a perfect balance between a hand stop and a vert grip. Saves on weight, but still provides enough surface to control a weapon.

Thanks Grand im gunna check them out at next months gun show!

OK. Just finished my 6.8SPC build. Has the AR Performance SOCOM barrel. I changed the bolt out of a PSA BCG. Mil Spec otherwise. Awaiting mags and ammo to test fire.

A Shield (if I recall, that's what it was) in a .45 ACP is a handful.

Pretty much any pistol that small with any significant caliber is going to have more recoil. Less weight to soak up the recoil in the long run. But all in all, a 9mm in a pocket type like the Shield is about perfect IMO.

Hmm

I may go to the dealer it came from and see if I can get a 9mm instead.

My dads friend recommended Versacarry Pro. Have you heard anything about it?

Holsters are always personal preference. If it fits you, go for it. I swear by Galco myself.

On another note, Grand, I've put together two ARs recently. One was the 6.8 and the other a 556. Both are Anderson Lowers and both are SSA uppers. They both have PSA full auto bcgs. Both are extremely sticky, even to the point of having to tap on the charging handle. They both have heavy duty buffers and springs. I've lathered them up with grease. I've not fired the 6.8, the other I built for a friend. He tried and couldn't get it to fire, couldn't get his bolt open without tapping on the charging handle. He didn't try again. I don't think his bolt went all the way in.

Any ideas?

Did you put together the uppers yourself?

Check the cam pin on the BCG. Sometimes they have a little extra crap on them from the factory. Easiest way to deal with it is to shoot it off.

If you put them together yourself, make sure the barrel and chamber are properly seated with the barrel index pin. Even if it's a hair off, you will have problems chambering.

I did put them together. I don't think it's the barrel. It seems to get tight about 1/2" before locked. I'm going to try to shoot my 6.8 tonight. Just got my mags.

Holy hell...

Want even though it has serious malfs.

which Galco

I have had two of their IWB Tuck-and-Go holsters and the Combat Master belt holster. My boss has the Stow-and-Go which he loves. Many years ago while deployed, I had their Miami Classic shoulder rig for my Beretta.

All of them have been top notch.
