The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

No, I haven't forgotten that. I'm simply saying this; if the preemption is written correctly, states will not have to pass laws to immediately remove restrictions on suppressors. States will have to pass laws to keep restrictions on suppressors and they may have legal challenges to that.

Thanks for your updates. Hopefully this fast tracks and we see something passed and signed in the next few months! I am currently awaiting ATF approval on a suppressor and would love to be able to pick it up prior to the ATF approval. Barring this legislation, I don't see getting mine until 2018. I've been waiting on a SBR tax stamp since June of last year.

Sales Tax Holiday in Tennessee !

USA Today says that the TN Legislature is considering a Sales tax holiday for Guns and Ammunition for the first weekend in September of each year.

Is this a great country or what!

Everyone knows the pinnacle of handgun development happened in 1924.

Of course, a case could be made for 1935 as well.

Indeed. The improvements made to the 1911 were great. Although today's shooter has moved away from the arched mainspring housing. The Colt commercial models of the 20's were some of the most beautiful 1911's ever made in my opinion.

The browning high power stands alone as the original wonder 9. There are certain pistols one should try in their lifetime. The BHP is very high on that list.

The revolver is special as it is the forerunner to the .44 magnum. The 1950 target model is the revolver that directly led to the .44 magnum and other big bore revolvers.

I've owned both flat and arched main spring types but I wasn't as into 1911s when I had the curved. All the ones I own now are flat mainspring, so I'll just continue with a good thing.

I wouldn't mind getting a BHP and getting it worked over by Robar or C&S. One glaring whiff and miss from JMB was not adding in the beavertail on the original HP in my opinion. Hammer bite drives a lot of folks away.

Agree. I can deal with the arched MS on some 1911's but I don't personally own one with it. Like you, all of mine are flat.

I have two bhp's that I've been contemplating sending out for some custom goodness. One day....

Looking at getting a hk45 lem v1 or a p30ls lem v3. Anybody have them, how r they? Prob will end up with both. Also, anyone heard any of the rumors of HK bring out a vp9 subcompact

Is there any disadvantage of using a socom barrel in this 6.8SPC build? The manufacturer is out of stock of the regular profile but has the socom. Other than the additional weight is there a disadvantage?

about over the pneumonia and then got a dose of something else after it

it is all ways something

as in the well is acting up

Even though I am a bit Liberal I've let it be known here that I don't support the Left's position on gun control. I fully support the NRA's positions on guns.

I was just curious about VN gun ownership.

I currently own:

Kahr PM9 9mm
Sig P226 9mm
Ruger LCR 38sp +P
Ruger LCP 380
Ruger SR45 black 45cal (amazingly accurate and easy to shoot)
S&W M&P45 Full Size w/TLR-1 Streamlight and Truglo tritium fiber optic, Thumb safety, nightstand gun.
Ruger 10/22 with Nikon 3-9
Browning BAR .243 Grade II made in Belgium in 1972

I carry my PM9 every day where it is legal and some places where it is not.

Not a big fan of GLOCK. Great shooting and rugged guns but I prefer semi's with safeties. I know I'm in a minority there. My PM9 has a more revolver like trigger thus I'm fine with no safety on it.
