I bought a Remington 870 police shotgun for 200 shipped on GB a few years back. Not a museum piece but it works. There are so many online you can find one with a low price and little interest. I would check gun shows too, with a republican win the guys who stocked up before the election are sweating all that inventory. Last show I went to here was half dead, and little moving. There's no fear buying artificially inflating prices. Now is a good time to find a deal.

I find the lower bore axis on the G43 still allows for less muzzle rise and faster follow up shots, without the need for porting, or the additional noise that comes with it.

I really don't care for the M&P trigger. I find the Glock trigger is much quicker, crisper and more consistent, but you have to learn to manipulate it correctly.

Ever try the Apex trigger? I hear it's like a mandatory upgrade.

I would completely agree with that statement but with a caveat. The trigger alone won't do it. To make the gun acceptable you need to replace the sear, the striker block and the spring. I think Apex sells all of that in a package. It greatly improves the gun but that will cost you about $150. Now you no longer have the price advantage either. That really takes you to the next advantage for Glock. The availability of factory and aftermarket parts is a big advantage over M&P.

Just saw that S&W is rolling out new M&P 2.0, 9mm and .40, .45 to follow later this year, full size of course and one with compact barrel.

Has anybody ever dealt with police trade in Glocks?

I want to get one and rebuild it, mill the slide, comp ported barrel, apex trigger, low pro holographic sight, basically make it a race gun I can have fun with,

Or would buying a new frame be cheaper and more economical? Or heck I could do a 80% reciever.

Edit: I've seen them with Dallas PD and other cities police dept stamped on the slide which I think is pretty cool. I'd like a Memphis PD but the don't carry glocks anymore and I don't think I've ever seen one stamped?

Most of the police trade in guns you see don't have huge round counts on them. Qualification firing and little more. They tend to be a great deal if you go with someone like Aim Surplus that can do the hand pick.

got my first can (.22lr) today....went to the other side of the neighborhood, and put three clips thru it....

Wasn't as quite as I was expecting (guess they never are), but was still quite impressive

I'm an idiot, I just grabbed a box, and it was standard velocity CCI...

Just dug thru, what I have, and I do have a couple of boxes of subsonic...I'll use those next

TBH, I don't have a "preference" so to speak. Never learned Mil-Dot, but I wouldn't mind picking up that skill.

Currently, my "long range" scopes are these:

Primary Arms 1-6X Scope with Patented ACSS 5.56 / 5.45 / .308 Reticle-PAPS1-6X

On my AR-10 carbine upper. And this one on the full length -10 upper:

Yeah, a nice 6.5 would be silly without a decent piece of glass.

I was looking into it and damn there's a lot of reticles out there. I'm thinking something fairly serious (maybe even up for some light PRS type shooting) but don't see a NF ATACR or S&B PMII in my future. (funny you should mention higher end Vortex...have you seen the HD Gen II's? Damn.)

Some guys really like the Horus types but they just look too busy for me. (though that's probably more my problem than the reticles) Some of the BDC type reticles work fine but don't have much wind calibration, at least on what I've seen so far and that's an increasingly serious issue once you start getting genuinely long.

Take a stroll through what Primary Arms has to offer. Good scopes for the money if you aren't looking at spending a lot.

And the Vortex line is good too.

I'd like a complete revision of the NFA34 myself. As well as deleting the Hughes Amendment. I'm fine at the moment with keeping full auto on a registry with a tax stamp as long as the Hughes Amendment goes away. But the SBR, SBS and suppressor portions are moronic.

And I really want the ITAR to go away.

But we'll save that rant for the other thread.
