The Official #25 Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech Game Thread, 8:00 PM ET, ESPN

"oh we won't miss Dobbs a bit!" "Vols for playoffs!!!!" "10-2 OR BUST!" said a lot of this forum. Dobbs had his off moments but when he was on he willed teams to wins and turned chicken **** situations into chicken salad. We are missing him and a lot of key talent lost to the nfl and replacing them with "potential"

Ohio State has won 12 of the last 13 v Michigan.
Ohio State always has a running QB.
Michigan almost never does.
All 3 of Meyer's NCs were with a running QB.
Michigan has 1 (shared) NC since 1948.
Josh Dobbs racked up 9,000 yds.
Moral of the Story: JG.

Well... Worst case scenario playing out...

Can't get em if the field and the o line is awful.

4 times in 3 rd and 7 or longer and they converted all of them, and we still can't possess the ball.... Can't get 1 at downs....

O line allowing pressure on 3 man fronts...

Drops.

Playing 10 yards off coverage in 3rd and 7. Justin Martin still giving up big plays and getting pulled.

More of the same against an offense you just can't do it against.

See if we can make some adjustments... But this is a huge possession coming up.

Things have to change... Quick.

It took them 21 minutes to score 14 so we can probably hold it to a 3 touchdown margin :)

Tennessee looks bad. I don't have much hope for the 2nd half. Our defense can't get off the field for all of these 3rd down conversions. We have receivers dropping open passes and we have had some breakdowns in pass protection. I can't believe we only picked up 1 first down on our first 4 possessions of the game and with such good field position due to Evan Berry's kick returns. It looks like it's going to be a long night.

Why is the line NEVER held accountable? Hmmm? It's been this way for 5 years: "We have to have a running quarterback blah blah blah." No, get some damn linemen who can do their jobs and let the passers do theirs.

I believe it has more to do with Butch's blocking scheme. They play on their heels instead of firing off the ball. They just get pushed back every play. Fulmer could fix this.

It's only a half. I saw some encouraging signs in Bituli, Taylor, Jumper, Kelly, and Chandler. We seem like we're ok playing tight on offense.. maybe putting Guarantano in will loosen it up.

Give Bituli a year in the weight room and he will be an absolute monster.

Dormady looks nervous out there, really tight, like he's in his head. Maybe because he's afraid to make a mistake because JG is waiting for his chance.

His throws look like they have some velocity, but problem I see is that he's staring down his receivers.

It doesn't look like he's going through his progressions. Locks on the first receiver, attracting the defense. He's thrown into double, triple coverages a few times.

He's lucky one of his passes didn't go for a pick 6.

I want Dormady to loosen up, get some easy completions, gain some confidence and just have some fun out there.

According to Butch the QB's came out of practice even. So I can't see why we can't give him one series if he screws up then we can go right back to dormady.
