We lacked real playmakers at wr on the roster coming into this year. It is on full display now.

First half just confirmed why I've been so apathetic about this program all offseason. We look like a poorly coached football team. Almost feels as bad as the Dooley years.

Tech, with a converted RB playing quarterback has more passing yards (59) than Vols (52) at the half. Tech 2-of-4 passing, UT 8-of-20

Embarrassing half. Justin Martin looks no better than last year. Receivers dropping passes. O line is swiss cheese. Just terrible all around.

Recruiting doesn't mean much when you this type play. We need to quit talking about how strong we are when we get pushed around by smaller players.

We had an NFL QB and only managed 9-4. This is a Butch Jones problem and always has been. You can change assistants and change players but if you never change the head coach you never solve the real problem.

What I find almost funny is how so many expected something so different from Butch. GT is rushing 3 and we cant block them..... Jones clock management sucks - walked into the locker room with 2 time outs and then goes ape on an assistant. Same sh%% new season.....

It has been pointed out numerous times that our offensive numbers last year were inflated due to Dobbs' legs being a safety valve for otherwise negative plays. This is Butch's offense without a safety valve; just like with Worley.

Read option offense only works if QB has ability to run and does, making defense account for QB on every play. That's why Dobbs was effective. No other QB we have used has made the offense work.

He hasnt played terribly. Theres been 3 or 4 crucial drops. Defense is whats killing us. They've got to get off the field.
