The Official #24/#18 Tennessee vs. Syracuse Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, ABC

So far offense has been better than I expected. We’ve had success running and passing. Need more accuracy on the short/medium passes. Also had a couple of drops.

Defensively, their last 3-4 drives have been 50+ yards and eaten a lot of clock. Need to tighten up to start the 2nd. GBO

Not misaligned, but if the TE on the right went out it should have been an illegal receiver call as he was covered. You can put 10 on the line if you want, but only 2 can go down field on a pass! Just can’t have 5 off the line.
When I saw the inside guy covered it was a dead giveaway they were running the ball

CBs have been surprisingly good. I know they haven’t made every play but for the most part it looks like they are playing every pass and not allowing much separation. B+ so far.

Get rid of the neutral site games. It’s been said time and again, but I have to reiterate how lackluster this feels compared to a game in Neyland. Empty seats, crowd isn’t buzzing tv speakers, have only heard rocky top once. Just doesn’t feel the same.
The crowd is actually pretty good. Behind Syracuse bench is empty.

Thought so. Why explain anything to someone who tries to insult you when they don’t even know the name of a basic formation?

Different teams call formations different things. There’s no one set name for any specific offensive formation. For one team they may call this green and another team may call it open, ace, or anything else.

Youre making things up again in a sad effort to pretend you know football.

The only 2 things most people would agree on about the offense is that they were in a 2x2 11 personnel set.

As close as you could get to a universal name for that set is that many people would call it “Pro” but even that’s not universal. It’s 11 personnel 2x2.
