The Official #23 Tennessee vs. #19 Oklahoma Game Thread, 6:00 pm ET, ESPN

Man I have always given butch credit for the culture he's creating and the recruiting, but I've just never seen a coach more scared to make aggressive decisions. And I have been absolutely blasted on here for it.
The crowd was shocked and literally wanted to boo when we kicked a fg from the half yard line. I think most people understood that you can't boo your own coach that early in a game but everyone in the stadium knew we straight out gave them 4 points there. I don't know that there is another coach in America that wouldn't have went for it there. And he's just so content to not score so long as we have the lead.

for an "offensive" coach, he sure does make decisions like a defensive coach. so conservative. i knew that call would cost us later on.

Got out coached and played in the second half. mostly out coached imo. we had the talent to win. Butch and company have been great on the recruiting trail, and have got the program headed in the right direction, but they have yet to prove they can win any big game. at some point you have to shut up and prove it on the field. no excuse for blowing a 17 point lead in neyland with that kind of fan support! ugly ugly ugly. horrible coaching horrible loss!

Dudes you fair-weathered fans. This is not the end of the season. We will pick up and move on.

Keep your heads up Vols. That was a hell of a game and your team fought until the end. I wish you guy's all the luck for the remainder of the season. I believe I can speak for all of Sooner Nation in saying that we appreciate the opportunity to experience a game at Neyland Stadium. Now go whoop some ass in conference play. Boomer Sooner.

Feeling empty and spent right now. Just came on here to congratulate Sooner fans and Negavols on your hard fought and earned victory. Can't really conjure up the fight to dispute the incessant BURN IT ALL DOWN AND START OVER din from the rest of the supposed fanbase. No matter if we went undefeated the rest of the way, my frequently criticized excessive post count should be minimal to nonexistent. This isn't a Bruin letter...no promises, but lurking seems to be the course I sail.

Being a Tennessee fan is like a love affair. Each season you see your sweetheart anew. She starts out beautiful sweet, attractive in every way, but by the end if the season you have a clear view if her. As a young fan I saw my sweetheart as attractive and when she lost games she was still beautiful. In the seventies, Bama always roughed her up, but she was mine and I had hope that she would be the most beautiful. I attend the university in the 80s and when I was at ut, my girl still lost but she was fun to be around. She even beat the bears teams! Heck there were miracles and victories that show me hiw great she was. The 90s lead to her greatest beauty! She was my darling! There were some heartbreaks but the 98 season captured my heart and the vision of her was set! Each fall I new she would look just like she did then. But something happened! She got sick. About 2001 she lost to lsu. It hurt because I thought she was still beautiful, but the rest if the world started to we that she had a wart! It started small! But by 2005 it had grown and she had other warts! I vils never see them but all the other school fans could and the always pointed them out. My sweethearts appearance began to change. She started covering up the warts! Each year everyone heard she will be the most beautiful this year! I believed she was beautiful and each year she was going to be the prettiest yet! However other fans said she had the worst warts ever! Sure enough by 2005 I could usually see her warts by game 3! They were ugly! Each season 2006, 07, 08, I would see them! I was always blind to how bad they were and still saw my true love as beautiful! Until 2013, at the vandy game! She was old smelly and ugly! Could I love her? Florida 14, ooh! She had warts, farted and had stank breath! But I started off the test in love! 2015, I was in love! She was the most beautiful girl! Others said the warts are as bad as ever but I did not see them. Till today! She has warts , she is stinky and hard to love! My heart is broken and I can't unsee what she looks like! One ugly butch!

This. He's a great culture and program guy, but as far as the X's and O's go, he's just a deer caught in headlights. He got the lead, despite some of the play calling, and decided that he would sit on it and play conservative. That blew up in everyone's faces and the Defense was gassed late.

If there's anything positive in this game, I do like the way the Defense stepped up and played, despite Colton Jumper being a Div III caliber player. A lot to improve on sure, but I feel a little better after that effort. Too bad the Offense and the coaching staff just quit and rested on a lead.

Took every word right out of my mouth! Butch showed me his true colors as a coach tonight and I didn't like what I saw.

Our coach is a statistics coach, when will he realize the statistic of him leading a football game and overly protective of the rock with vanilla play calling will NOT carry you through. He has to be more aggressive and unleash this team, they will learn from mistakes every team does! We have to score some points, our field goal kicker is to nervous! We have all this wide receiver talent that didnt touch the ball enough!! I called it when Jones was cruizing and sadly enough so did OU defensive coordinator, told my wife hook routes, slants, and out routes to get OU out of the box! The kids played hard, i hope they come back strong against next week

Butch is great Sunday to Friday.

He is worse than Zook on Saturday though.

He's our Ron Zook.

Absolutely pathetic.

Butch and Debord have freaking a lot to answer for.

I said the team that made some adjustments would win.

Not good Butch. Not good.

All on Butch and Debord

Oklahoma showed us what big time is.

Unreal. This game should have been a three TD blowout.

Coaches showed ZERO faith in Team 119. Now I have very little faith in this coaching staff -- on Saturdays.

Florida last year should have been the final straw and they allowed this to happen.

Unreal.

Butch Jones talks about how this team needs to learn how to win but this game looked just like the UF game last year. I think Coach Jones is the one who needs to learn how to win!!! Very sad loss for the Vols :(

I will agree with one thing. We need to step on the gas until we are so far ahead we can easily put it on coast

Ok here is what I saw.

Great game plan by Tennessee coming out. Offensively and defensively. Put us on our heels. Defense adjusted but Tennessee kept them tired because your defense was stifling our O.

As the game progressed injuries gave our D a rest finally and our O a hand.

The Oklahoma D started getting the momentum in the game and the offense started to establish a run game against you guys with some key injuries helping us out.

Our D deserves credit. They never stopped believing. The O somehow got inspired. Mayfield was a man possessed. It's not like our offense scored easily. Those were gritty, ugly, extremely difficult and long drives. You guys did not make it easy.

We had some playmaker on O inexplicably show up. Lot of heart there. Same for your guys. Yall didn't roll over or give up in any way. It seemed like we stayed in third down in the fourth quarter.

Penalties? Ugh I'm not even going to address them. We can both make an argument for calls changing the game.

Adjustments and reactions to those adjustments is the story I think. Those teams played their hearts out and were about as evenly matched on that day as two teams could be.
