Anyone defending him after the coaching decisions today is in serious denial.

1-4 vs. fl unacceptable
2-2 vs. Vandy unacceptable
Losing record to top 25 teams unacceptable

Statement time! I have been a Vol fan for over 50 years and I still love the Vols! I have seen many highs and lows. From Battle to Majors to Fulmer to Kiffin to Dooley and now to Jones. I have fully supported Jones until today but I am now of the opinion we need to start over AGAIN!

Our recruiting classes simply do not match the performance on the field! Yes Jones can recruit but I am now ready to say he cannot coach. Florida is not a good team and we are worse!

Best case for Tennessee football is bring in a new coach and go through another 3 or 4 years of mediocarty!

That's exactly correct. Coaching your DB's to keep EVERYONE in front of them in this situation is the most basic fundamental thing you practice. EVERYTHING revolves around that in the defensive backfield with 9 seconds left in the game.

Thank you Butch for the recruiting and for running a clean program. We needed someone to get us out of the bad place we were in. But now it is time for you to go so that we can get a true Power 5 head coach and staff who wins games that he should win, LIKE THIS ONE.

To the TN Administration, make the change or watch the fans start staying home in droves. 8-4 with losses like this is not acceptable.

And it looks like we'll be playing another game in Nashville this year.

Butch can recruit, I'll give him that. But he's a MAC coach in the SEC, and that translates to 7-5 and 8-4 records.

I'll say this, it's not a coincidence we're in this many close games. Coaching style to stay in a game (conservative) is what will probably do it for coach. This will get interesting.

In game coaching decisions may have not been the best, but there is no denying these guys play for their team and for their coaches. They never give up. Things didn't go their way, but they kept persevering and made many vital plays to put themselves in a position to win....it didn't happen, but we will live to see tomorrow. Gotta look towards Georgia and only focus on improving!

Go VOLS!!

I don't want to pick on a kid, but did we really let a receiver get behind us on the last play of a game? Should have never come to that anyway. We lost this game with a horrible lack of situational awareness by Larry Scott and Butch Jones.
